Historia
Death is not an unfamiliar visitor to Shady Oaks Retirement Village, which provides San Diego with premier elderly support from independent retiree housing to full-time hospice care. But when a resident’s body is found brutally stabbed and his apartment ransacked, it’s clear there’s someone deadly in their community. Detective Katherine “Kit” McKittrick quickly discovers that Shady Oaks is full of skeleton-riddled closets, and most tenants prefer to keep their doors firmly closed to the SDPD.

Reminds me of her first books
Revisado: 03-28-24
Really liked this book, shorter than most of her other books but very good. Hillary Huber is an awesome narrator; she really brings Karen's books to life. I wish she had been the narrator for the Sacramento Series as I finally gave up and bought ebooks. I also wish she would add the stories of other primary characters, not just the main two. I highly recommend listening to this series. it will remind you of her first books that were awesome.

Too many years of hunting psychotic vampires night after night have left Rachel with a need for change. So when the opportunity to travel across the galaxy aboard a Lasaran warship to a utopian planet arises, the powerful Immortal Guardian jumps at the chance. Rachel eagerly looks forward to making a fresh start . . . until an enemy attacks and she ends up alone in an escape pod so far from alliance-occupied space that no one can hear her communications. No one except a renegade cyborg who shouldn't exist.

Revisado: 03-27-24
I really, really enjoyed listening to this book. Kirsten Potter does an awesome job in bringing Dianne's books to life. I read the book when it first came out, but the audiobook was truly GREAT. I hope this isn't the last Alliance book. Dianne Duvall is one of my all-time favorite authors.

Much better
Revisado: 10-16-23
This book reminds me of some of Karen's original books. I have read most of her books more than once as I enjoy them so much. I waited awhile before I bought it as I hadn't enjoyed her last books very much and it had so few ratings. I really like Lee Osorio's narration of the book. I would definitely recommend book two of this series to others but not book one.

Ever wondered what Bones was thinking and feeling, when he and half-vampire Cat Crawfield first met? Or how their story might differ if he were the one telling it? Now, relive the beginning of Cat and Bones' best-selling love story through Bones' point of view, which reveals a darker, sexier take on their early days, as well as a deeper dive into Bones' past, the vampire world, and other things that Cat didn't see, when their story was told only through her eyes in Halfway to the Grave. Cat had her say. Now, it's Bones' turn.

Miss Bones' cockney accent
Revisado: 11-08-22
Will is very good at narrating, he does an amazing job. (I'm looking forward to finding other books read by him) But I miss Bones' cockney accent and it is hard to get used to a more high-bred accent as he was purported to have been raised in a brothel. Other than that, I'm really enjoying his point of view. Update: the farther I get into this book, the more I'm missing the original Bones. I probably am going to return it as I find myself finding reasons not to listen to it. It has been days and I usually take only a day or two to finish a book. I most likely will get the e-book.

Liked the very beginning with the little girl ,then it went downhill . It finally picked up about chapter 8. Not her best but fairly good ,the narrator did a great job .

Ava has always been different. She lives a very isolated life until she is offered a job with an obscure network that aids powerful Immortal Guardians in their quest to protect humanity from the psychotic vampires who prey upon them. Life is good. And when her employers invite her to join a group of other gifted ones and a handful of Immortal Guardians on a journey to another planet, it becomes absolutely fantastic.

Enjoyed it but..........
Revisado: 01-23-22
Kirsten Potter did an awesome narration job, but the first half of the book was slow. The second half was much better, although if you read The Segonian you knew what was going to happen. Part of the problem was The Segonian was so, so good, The Purveli was a bit of a letdown. WOW book four looks like it's going to be AWESOME, can't wait!!!!!

I will be looking forward to getting next year's story. I was looking for a new murder mystery and found this series, so glad I did.....Truly Enjoyable!

But the notebook where she scribbled her intel on litterers and other such offenders is nowhere to be found. Then Eve is summoned away to a nearby building site to view more remains - in this case decades old, adorned with gold jewelry and fine clothing - unearthed by recent construction work.

Revisado: 09-11-21
I really enjoyed this book, it reminded me a lot of the older books. A lot of interaction with Peabody and Eve just being a good cop. Missed Mavis, Feeney, Leonardo, McNabb and the cops in the bullpen. Not as much interaction with her and the other characters we so enjoy. All in all, a very good read.

So disappointed
Revisado: 08-04-21
Wow, I was so looking forward to Cliff's story. I had reread/listened to the previous books as I do a lots of times so I can remember what went on before a new book comes out. I didn't need too, as his book was just a rehash of a lot of the other books. There wasn't much new, not even what I thought as a great ending. Kirsten Potter was great as usual and I'm a huge fan of Dianne Duvall. I love the spin-off the Aldebarian Alliance and look forward to more to come. I wouldn't recommend this book and won't listen to it again.

Just ok
Revisado: 07-16-21
Just couldn't get into it. Narrator was sort of flat, couldn't tell the female voice from the male. I started skipping forward to see if it got better then gave up. I like Julie Garwood I used to read her paperback books as soon as they came out. The story could have been good but couldn't stand to listen to it. I'm into audio books now so I thought I would give her a try. I sampled Mercy and it sounded much better. I'm returning this book.
