Characters didn't feel consistent
Revisado: 08-27-24
especially toward the ending of the book the main character seem to just keep flip flopping between her wants and every one else's.

Why was this needed.
Revisado: 12-01-23
So much unnecessary story, more than half of the book just feels like filler.
Little character moments or actions,
First off, apparently you need to have read all the side stories and spin off books because they love to talk about stories and events from those books constantly throughout. Not a terrible thing but maybe a note of "hey you should do these books first" could have been there.
They go into a spire again and we are introduced to senario floors. this are just shoehorned side storylines and feel too far gone and out of place for even a fantasy story. a murder mystery takes up an entire floor. a ship/ pirate adventure takes up a floor. a haunted house is another.
Sarah has gotten unbearable in this book, seems less of friendly sister nagging and straight up manipulative of Corrin. he gets into a duel on a scenario floor and she explodes into anger and rage with the same bs excuse of "you need to talk to me before making decisions that affect our house we've had this discussion!" it's a fake scenario floor in the spire none of it is real why have this reaction.
Sarah later takes action with a summon, that almost break her attunement again, just to true summon a figment from a scenario floor of the tower, which I feel should bring the wrath of a visage or God beast or guardian, she just says screw it and pulled a being out of the tower with no thought or consequence.
at this point I can't even finish the book even with only 5 hours left

Historia
When a trip into the forest to collect a rare mushroom goes horribly wrong, I find myself falling through a fairy portal and straight into the arms of the Unseelie Fae prince. The dangerously unhinged and handsome Unseelie Fae prince. What could be more horrible than that? He thinks I'm an assassin sent by the humans to kill him, not a biologist. Determined to kill me first and rid himself of the human he has unwillingly grown obsessed with, yet also needing to entertain his people, the villain challenges me to three deadly trials.

Tiktok Baited
Revisado: 10-12-23
This book is a romance novel first with fantasy and paranormal splashed in, the last half of the book starts to get very graphic and sex focused.
First few hours feel like they are from a different story compared to the last half of the book. The ending events while interesting actually raise too many plot holes and stupid questions of why it was written that way.

Historia
In this dark and gritty collection - featuring short stories from Jim Butcher, Seanan McGuire, Kevin J. Anderson, and Rob Thurman - nothing is as simple as black and white, light and dark, good and evil.... Unfortunately, that's exactly what makes it so easy to cross the line.

If you're looking for Dresden, don't bother…

Only a short story is tied to dresden
Revisado: 04-17-19
So book 12.5 was good various stories tied to the Dresden files, I thought this one (14.5) would be along the same lines. James Marsters is not one of the narrators which I should have taken as a red flag. The first story is about Molly, and her story after the last book. It's written by Jim butcher, not narrated by Marsters, but that was ok since it was focused all around Molly with no Dresden. The second story was a good one as well, not even remotely tied to Dresden but still good. The third is were things went off track, the story seems to be disconnected from itself and I felt like I was missing bits of the story. When I got to the fourth story I had my fill, the narrator was not to my liking and I just wanted to get back to Dresden story.

Historia
Magic, adventure, mystery, and romance combine in this epic debut in which a young princess must reclaim her dead mother’s throne, learn to be a ruler - and defeat the Red Queen, a powerful and malevolent sorceress determined to destroy her. On her 19th birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. Plain and serious, a girl who loves books and learning, Kelsea bears little resemblance to her mother, the vain and frivolous Queen Elyssa.

Incredible performance!
Revisado: 04-03-18
It took me a minute to get used to Katherine Kellgrens voice reading this story, but within the first hour of hearing the effort she put into delivering lines and descriptions I was immediately hooked and needed to hear more. The story is a little odd being set in a medieval like time with occasional mention of computers and digital technology that used to exist, but this also puts a great interest in an event refered to as The Crossing. I highly recommend for fans of fantasy works.

Historia
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Not an audiobook but still good.
Revisado: 02-19-18
So, as the title says this recording is not an audiobook but a recording of an event hosted by Brene. That being said I did find this recording very eye opening, I'm actually going to listen to it again a few times to make sure the material stick with me.
