We are fans of Carl Hiaasen, so we didn't read reviews, just excitedly downloaded this book. We have "read" almost all of his books, and find them entertaining, as well as raising concern over the Florida Everglades. This book, STAR GIRL was awful. There was character development, but all of them were shallow, and mindless. Plot was very weak, and predictable. DON'T WASTE YOUR CREDITS! It is only on the Best seller's lists because of his name!

What a great find!

I listened to this book with my teenage daughter, on a roadtrip. We loved it. It was easy to follow, except towards the end. It seemed as though the writer wasn't sure which direction he wanted to take the book. Either that, or he was trying to confuse us.---Seems to me that there will be a sequel. WHO is "the voice"???

I saw the title and thought, "C'mon!" But I was surprised. This is well written tale, that will keep you interested until the end. Well worth the time. Heart-renching at times, but a great listen.

Once you get past the introduction this book is well worth your time. As a Christian I found The Pilgrim's Progress thought provoking. Furthermore, I was able to relate to the characters within the story.
