First I absolutely love this book. This was my 3 go through the book this year. The audiobook just truly brings it to life. It's such a great stroy with truly likeable characters. And Hayden and Darcy truly are perfect for each other.

I absolutely love this book, and considering I dont like age gap thats saying something. I really enjoyed the audio as well. I like the female narrator a bit more than the male narrator but both were good, and it was an enjoyable experience listening to it. Below is the review I left after reading the book for the first time. And rereads and listens just make me love ot more!

First let me start by saying though this is an age gap, it’s not super noticeable with the characters. Lexi makes a couple of comments about his age, but other than that it wasn’t a big plot point. So if you’re someone who isn’t usually a fan of age gap (I’m not usually a fan) still give it a try. That being said this is my absolute favorite book that I have read by Lyra. All of the characters are fantastic and I’m cursing her name for making us wait a year to get our hands on Carlee and Weston’s story. Though it was nice to go back to Valentine for bit, and a teaser for Remi and Cash (which despite it being an age gap I’ll have to read it).

Easton falls extremely hard and fast for Lexi. I love how all his chapters have how long he has known, her as well the story behind it. Easton is willing to do pretty much anything for Lexi including being late. The way he calls her darling from pretty much the beginning is just so precious. And if you live for a my wife moment like I do, this is great book for you.

Lexi is anti-love at the start of the book, and she has very valid reasons for it. She is pretty honest about it, but of course Easton makes it impossible for her to stay that way. She may have needed a bit of help to determine what love really felt like, but she got there eventually. Once realized what was happening she did embraced it.

I really loved how much time was spent on Easton and Lexi developing their relationship. We got to learn little bits and pieces along the way, it just felt really organic. Easton had no problem showing Lexi how he felt, and the ways she was different from all the women he had previously dated. The way Easton tried to fulfill Lexi’s bucket list items was perfection. He also didn’t shy away from her brothers and that whole scene was great, especially since we got to enjoy a glimpse into some of the Valentine men.

Honestly I just really loved this book a lot. The characters were great (leaving me wanting that second book desperately), the story flowed nicely, and there wasn’t a 3rd act breakup. I just really loved this book, I was never bored and I didn’t want it to end. It’s definitely in contention for my top read of the year.

One of my favorites!

I truly love rhis book! Even though its hard to pick a favorite book of Stephanie's this is probably it. I wasnt as big of a fan of the female narrator, she didnt fit the voice of Hazel in my head, but the male knocked it out of the park. Rory and Hazel are such a great couple. I love the fake dating trope and this is one of my go to recs for the trope. Rory is just such a great character and I love all the secondary characters too!

Love Liv and Finn!

I think the narrators did such a fantastic job bringing Liv and Finn to life. I absolutely love duet narration, it just adds an extra something to the listening experience.

This is also one of my favorite books in the Queen's Cove Series. You can tell Finn really regrets leaving and staying away. I also like how he makes Liv wait for it. He also knows exactly what she is doing but pays along with her plan.

it's such a satisfying HEA.

one thing I love to do is listen to audiobooks after I've read the book. The audiobook often adds so much to the experience. In this case I love the narrators and hearing the lines in a southern accent is so fun. This is a great second chance romance. I love that Lyra didn't make Kinsley just pine for Hayden.

Made me love the book even more

I really love the Queen's Cove Series and have since I read it the first time. I loved listening to the audiobook and it really made me love this book even more. The narrators were great as well.

I love how much Holden cares about Sadie, and how he is trying so hard to get her to fall for him. And of course there was plenty of spice as you should expect from a book by Stephanie Archer.

A perfect best friend's brother romance

Julia has quickly become one of my favorite authors. her characters never disappoint. This is a wonderful best friend's brother romance. Ethan and Summer are perfect for each other. And Mila is such an amazing sister and best friend. You really get the small town vibe that is Dogwood Cove.

Narrators kinda ruined it for me

I only gave this 5 stars because I enjoyed the story and didn't want it to seem like the story was bad, but this one better read I think. The narrators are just not good and kinda ruined it for me. I had to listen to it faster than I normally do just to make it bearable to listen to.

The overall story was well done though. I liked the characters and it was an interesting plot.

Pippa and Jamie are so cute!

This was my second read through of this book. The duet narration was perfect, and I love the narrators that were chosen. The story is one of my favorites of the year. Goalies really don't get as much love in hockey romance, and I love that Jamie is a goalie.

Pippa and Jamie really bring out the best in each other. Jamie with his unwavering support of Pippa, he definitely proves he is her number one fan. Pippa helps Jamie realize it's time to focus on what he wants and needs.

And of course Daisy steals the show.

Great Narrators and Great Story

I love the accents of the narrators. They seem like they fit the characters very well.

As far as the actual book goes, I loved that as well. It's always nice when you have a vest friend's sibling book where the best friend is super supportive of the relationship, versus that being a conflict. I liked that we got the history of Beckett and Summer slowly. The first date that Beckett planned for Summer was very sweet (and spicy!), and the way he went about getting her to go on the date was very cute.

It's a great performance and great story!
