Historia
Jerin is a mental freak - a man capable of successfully playing a dozen simultaneous chess games against first-rate players while he himself is out of sight of any of the boards. It is while thus engaged that he is killed. A millionaire - his opponent in more realms than chess - is accused, and Nero Wolfe is given what appears to be the most hopeless case he and Archie Goodwin have ever tackled.

It Takes A Genius
Revisado: 01-02-22
The carefully crafted personalities of all the regulars in Rex Stout’s books, as well as the unpredictable outcomes, are especially impressive because he devised each story in his head, then wrote it down perfectly the first time. The one exception, I believe, was the one he wrote the year of his death. ALSO, Michael Prichard’s reading cannot be surpassed.

Historia
Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, a father, a neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

Too Long
Revisado: 12-12-20
The details of the tragic Death March drug on and on and on, with the only point seeming to be that Pete had become numb to violence and murder, and had suffered on and on and on only to come home to an unresponsive wife w/ loose morals. While this may explain the murder, the mass description was overkill.
