Good Book

I was surprised that I liked the book as much as I did. This wasn't because of the strong Christian theme you'll find woven throughout the whole story. In fact, I expected this and am not bothered by it at all. The reason for thinking that I would dislike the book was due to the subject matter. I admit it was upsetting at times but despite the ugliness of the brutal crimes and the grief filling every chapter, it was quite tastefully done. I truly think the author's message came across loud and clear without beating us over the head with too much graphic description like so many books of this nature do. This book is very thought provoking and has an important message that I wish every teenager as well as some adults I know, really need to hear.

Enjoyed the Laughs

There were a lot of familiar scenes in this book but I gave it 5 stars anyways because there was also tons of laughter which is why I love this series.

It was okay

I enjoyed this book as a quick read but it was very predictable. I feel like this story was a bit rushed and perhaps if more time had been spent on both the story and character development, I would have enjoyed it more. I do like this author and have read all of the books Amazon carries by her, so even if this wasn't my favorite, I will certainly read any future books I run across by Melinda Leigh.

Fun Kids Series

This is a fun, fast paced book for young teens. I wouldn't let my kids listen to it much younger than age twelve to fourteen for fear of them having nightmares but there's plenty of action to keep a teen interested.

Entertaining

I have mixed feelings about this book. The subject was not one I'd normally listen to but the story and dramatization were very well done. I was left a little confused at the end over one issue but that's all I want to say on that subject because I hate spoilers. Overall, it was a good listen and if you can handle the subject matter (child trafficking) then it's well worth the money and time.

Still Loves This Series

I fell in love with this series at 12 years old and I still enjoy revisiting them now over 30 years later. I bought the books, audio, movies and games for my children and I'm looking forward to introducing them to my grandchildren once they're old enough.

Great Read

A friend recommended this series to me but it took me months to decide to try it. I've just finished the second book in the series and have thoroughly enjoyed both. My hesitation was based on an unpleasant experience with another series by this same author (Pendragon) that after numerous attempts, I gave up trying to listen to. The problem with that series may have been entirely the fault of the narrator because the monotone voice kept literally putting me to sleep. This was not the case this time however, as I happily kept listening to the end and enjoyed both the narration and the story.
