It's all about faith and staying the course.

I love this couple--now I know why! They're true to themselves, each other, their families and others (even those much less fortunate) and most importantly, God. I never would have guessed Chip's heart is as big as it is. Cheers to you and continued success!

NOT TO BE MISSED!

If you shy away from religion because you feel it's too constrictive, too damning, contradictory, judge mental, condemning, etc., you may be right! This book cuts through all that and goes directly to the matter at hand--Jesus is greater than religion; ANY religion. This guy's got it right. Everything becomes much clearer than before. Clearly a gifted individual. Thank you, Jefferson Bethke!

Fully two stories in one.

This is a well deserved read/listen. It definitely clears up some less than clear sections of the bible (Old Testament in particular). I particularly like the way Randy correlates similar modern day stories to show current relevance. I've read other material of Randy's and found him to be easy to understand, concise with a beautiful audio voice. Here's my only problem and the reason I gave his performance only three stars. He has a habit of letting his voice drop off at the end of the sentence. Often! Maybe 6 out of 10 times. This is significant! You find yourself straining to hear. And, if there's any significant background noise (lawn mowers, road noise, barking dogs, etc.) you have to turn up the volume higher than you'd normally want just to catch the last word or two. Perhaps recording with something that monitors the level of volume would be helpful. If it's problematic for you, I suggest reading the book.

Simply Stunning

I can't image anyone having a heart so hardened that this book will not move it. . . And move it in ways that can only soften it.

After listening to this book (twice) I find it hard to recommend anything other than Gregory Boyle's (author) audio version. Having lived this story his interpretation and inflections are perfect! I've no doubt I will listen again and again.

I personally believe this book to be deserving of several audio awards.
