good, but not good.

if ur a fan of Brandon Sanderson and are on a quest to read or listen to his whole library inside the comsmere then give it a listen so u can check it off the list. if not, don't waste ur time or money. or read the print version. as with all audio books a good, or even great book can suffer from an inadequate narrator. this is one such time. the production tries too hard in my opinion to give each character a voice and Hollywood type sound effects. it take too much away from the story and writing that Sanderson put into his work. it makes it feel like it was made for little kids with acting equal to something ud find in a bad kids movie. which is a shame, because I like the story. I just like it would've been better with just one good narrator.

was sure at first.
Revisado: 02-08-22
when I first started this book it was directly after finishing the first series and such a jump in time-line made me pause or doubt if I'd like it. but it didn't take long to realize the writing and story arc are just as good and that Wax and Wayne are a perfect combo of comedic characters. can't wait to see where the story goes next.

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

it blows my mind. every book I read by Sanderson just seems to keep getting better and better. and the more you read, the more you come to understand the sometimes very subtle nuances that make his world and writing so great.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

I'm not sure if its because I was already deeply invested in Sanderson's cosmere universe, being that I've already read stormlight archives, warbreaker, and elsntris before I dove into mistborn, but I honestly never thought he could've done any better than stormlight. I'm the first book into mistborn and I'm actually liking it better than stormlight. and it may only be because I have a better grasp and understanding of how the cosmere universe works, but I've found myself way more invested and intrigued after only one book, than I have in any of his other works. do I think its better than the stormlight archives? well, no, not at all. stormlight is a work that isn't finished, but knowing how that even just a little bit of this series ties into that one, almost makes it that much more enjoyable. if u don't know what I'm referring to, read stormlight after and u may understand. eitherway, this would be a great introduction to the cosmere and a fantastic story in and amongst itself.

for a first published book, Sanderson nailed it
Revisado: 09-18-21
tho this is not the first book I read from Sanderson, but his first book published, I still feel it holds up to his other books. it a great introduction to both his writing style and his vision for the world building known as the Cosmere. Tho u can definitely see the difference in writing, character building, and creativity between this first book and, say, the Stormlight Archives, it is still a very enjoyable read. tho I highly recommend this book, I would suggest reading some of his later works, as it helps understand some "easter eggs" that only became easter eggs after the other series were written and developed, as his later works help explain subtle nuances that u wouldn't otherwise understand or may just glaze over, but if recognized make the story that much more enjoyable.

3 books in (well, 4 if u count edge dancer) and I think its getting even better. I find myself in anticipation and eagerness to listen to it more and more as u get sucked into the story, the world, and even the cosmere as a whole. The only downfall is that the full story is not yet written.

good but could be better.
Revisado: 06-29-21
loved the story by itself, and the narration is good as well. my only criticism is that even tho I like the contrast of having both a male and female narrator, I only wish they would stay more consistent to the characters they portray. basically I wish the male narrator would stick to the the characters he reads and the female sticks the hers, regardless of the gender of those characters. they switch back and forth so much it can sometimes get confusing as to who's speaking.

it wasn't bad. but not great either. there were just too many characters, storylines, and plots. And the author I think was trying too hard to show how great and pius the jedi are, it felt forced (no pun intended). The production was good and Marc Thompson was great as usual. I think if anyone else narrated it would have been unbearable. And the fact that the story didn't get finished in one book was a bit irritating. overall I guess its worth a listen, just don't expect too much.

If you really like Lord of the rings do not listen
Revisado: 03-23-21
I love Lord of the rings, I grew up with it. I read the books, I've watched the movies, And now I listen to the audio book. The author essentially ruins the story. His voice is annoying, it sounds like hes constantly sucking on an ice cube. Is attempt to Distinguish between characters, Is a feeble attempt. And his attempt to sing the songs makes me want to jam an ice pick in my ear. The recording itself sounds like it was done in the 1970s. I was so disappointed at this listen, Please don't waste your time
