I love reading books where the main characters have different lived experiences from me, and really appreciated learning about things blind people go through on a daily basis. The fact that the author is legally blind makes it feel that much more authentic. The FMC wasn't a one dimensional character, though, there was so much more to her than her blindness. The romance was swoon worthy and as an audiobook reader, I loved how much audiobooks were incorporated into the story! I really hope she writes books for his brothers and her best friends soon!

Great Romantic Suspense

This book is about Max Fear, who is in private security and working on opening his own firm (Fear, Inc). He meets Sloane through his friends and their relationship is hot and cold throughout the whole book, though I promise there's an HEA. Sloane witnesses a murder and becomes a target of the mafia, so she stays with Max to keep safe. I absolutely love a forced proximity trope, so this was right up my alley.
At just under 5 hours, this book is shorter than most I've listened to lately, and I was worried it was going to end on a cliffhanger. Luckily it didn't, and it was nice to be able to finish the book in less than a day. Books two and three are about Max's friends/ coworkers who we met in book one, and I can't wait to read their stories.
This book was duet narration performed by Connor Crais (who's quickly becoming a favorite of mine), Stephanie Rose (new to me and great in this book), with supporting voices by Troy Duran and JF Harding. I did receive an Advanced Listener Copy (ALC) of this book from the author.
