Historia
In Manhattan, a young grad student gets off the train and realizes he doesn't remember who he is, where he's from, or even his own name. But he can sense the beating heart of the city, see its history, and feel its power. In the Bronx, a Lenape gallery director discovers strange graffiti scattered throughout the city, so beautiful and powerful it's as if the paint is literally calling to her. In Brooklyn, a politician and mother finds she can hear the songs of her city, pulsing to the beat of her Louboutin heels.

So glad I kept listening!
Revisado: 09-18-23
At first, I really wasn’t sure where this plot line was going. A city that is alive? With avatars to embody the Burroughs. But YES!! Once I got into the book, I was hooked!! And now I love the pacing, and the characters, and the creativity that embodies this story!! This book won’t be for everyone, but for those of you that get it, and immerse yourself in the thick of it, will love it!

Historia
History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

Slow and lackluster
Revisado: 01-15-23
This book dragged on and on and in. I kept hoping it would pick up, but it never really did. The characters weren’t particularly dynamic and there were some major plot issues with the story as well. Overall this was a real disappointment.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

What a bright surprise
Revisado: 02-14-22
I truly enjoyed this autobiography narrated by Matthew McConaughey. He is a fantastic storyteller. I’m not one to gravitate to autobiographies, but here he inserts so much wit and wisdom into the subject of his life, that you can’t help but be drawn into his narrative. I would love to see if he’s got some fiction to write, because I think he could expand to other genres as well.
I think he has some more stories to tell us.

I truly loved this series of books. I loved the plot, the characters, the creativity, everything. This puts an interesting twist on the typical post-apocalyptic novel; and I love it! Highly recommend reading the whole series!

Revisado: 09-05-19
I really struggled with Celestial 's character. She lacked conviction to me. Honestly, I guess if I think about it, all the characters were lacking, even Roy. In the end, this was a mediocre book, at best. The narrators, however, were very good, and brought as much as they could to the story.

Not as good as the first book in the series
Revisado: 05-03-19
The plot meanders a bit as the author tried to wrap seemingly separate story lines together. This gives the book a bit of a piecemeal feel about this. And seemingly larger plot lines from the previous book don't play out with the same importance. It was not as cohesive as I would have liked.
