Whiny Coward

If you like books about a very powerful whiny coward who cares about no one else around him. Enjoy. I really tried to finish it but just couldn’t, I would recommend basically any of the authors other series other than this thing.

The world, mechanics and the story are really quite well done. I lasted as long as I could but the Main Character is just sooooo annoying, why is it that so many writers can't write a strong female lead. In this story the lead is a female but acts like a preteen boy, but worse! Maybe a pre teen boy who is in a 20 year old body and does everything on impulse, doesn't think about others, and just does her own thing even if its wiping out a race of majestic creatures because its fun. Ohh and has a hard time saying a sentence with out an expletive... I just can't listen to any more of it. Ohh and of course gets a super overpowered class.

Would be a fantastic story if people would just stop talking about there feelings

Overall plot is great, and will keep listening to the story, but two really major pet peeves.

One is all this talk about I am feeling this or that and how they keep promising to communicate better then they don’t at all over and over again, would be nice if the different characters would develop and learn from their mistakes somewhat. It’s like they picked one character flaw and never thought beyond that so they have to keep going back to it over and over again. So they can then gush about how they are feeling for another chapter….

Why is it always making a strong woman means making her act like a man personality wise? Is t that like really shallow? The women in this story act more like men and the men act like women. Do the writers not know what a strong confident woman actually looks like?

I really enjoyed the story but I felt more like the story was a tool to preach at me than just a good sci-fi story. Hope that makes sense...
In the end I felt more used than anything else.

I love how these new writers keep making their main characters do udderly stupid things in order to make the story work or to provide that extra bit of drama... a good story, could have been great
