Graham is an amazing narrator of his book. The characterizations are delightful and the story Luke being wrapped up in a cozy blanket for your favorite tale. Thoroughly enjoyed it and feel like there could be a sequel in there for Luca and Damien…

We listened to this on a family trip and were all thoroughly immersed in the story. Typical Bond style - stretching credulity, but laying the young Bond foundation of the adult character we love so well.

Another outstanding novel from Deon Meyer
Revisado: 11-03-24
A brilliantly authentic performance of Leo. I didn’t want it to end but also desperate to see how it came together. At the end I was left wanting a little more… Is it too soon to ask when the next book comes out?

Not quite as engaging as the Thursday Murder club gang, but likely to turn into a popular series. A gentle, easy going listen with some twists and turns, with little moments of insights into the characters built up nicely

Historia
If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves. When Whoopi lost her mother in 2010—and then her older brother, Clyde, five years later—she felt deeply alone; the only people who truly knew her were gone. Emma raised her children not just to survive, but to thrive. In this intimate and heartfelt memoir, Whoopi shares many of the deeply personal stories of their lives together for the first time.

A delightfully good chat with an old friend
Revisado: 08-19-24
What a lovely, easy going listen to the familiar throaty voice and chuckle of Whoopi. Felt like a wholesome talk with an old friend reminiscing about a remarkable woman (her mom) and the moments that moulded Whoopi and her outlook on life. Worth a listen - and between her recollection of Marlon and Streisand’s recollections of Marlon, I’m now intrigued to learn a little more about the man and his mind behind the legend of Brando

Historia
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, The Covenant of Water is set in Kerala, on South India’s Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning—and in Kerala, water is everywhere. At the turn of the century, a twelve-year-old girl from Kerala’s long-existing Christian community, grieving the death of her father, is sent by boat to her wedding, where she will meet her forty-year-old husband for the first time.

Superbly narrated by the author, I’d put off listening to this book due to its length. However, I was so engrossed in how the story would unfold and connect - laughs and tears as I became invested in the wonderful characters brought to life in this tale.

Historia
Vampires do not exist. Everyone knows this. So it's particularly annoying when they start popping up around Manchester. Nobody is pleased about it. Not the Founders, the secret organisation for whom vampires were invented as an allegory, nor the Folk, the magical people hidden in plain sight who only want a quiet life. And definitely not the people of Manchester, because there is nothing more irksome than being murdered by an allegory run amok. Somebody needs to sort this out fast before all hell really breaks loose - step forward the staff of The Stranger Times.

Historia
A weekly newspaper dedicated to the weird and the wonderful (but mostly the weird), The Stranger Times is the go-to publication for the unexplained and inexplicable. At least that's their pitch. The reality is rather less auspicious. Their editor is a drunken, foul-tempered and foul-mouthed husk of a man who thinks little of the publication he edits. His staff are a ragtag group of misfits. And as for the assistant editor...well, that job is a revolving door - and it has just revolved to reveal Hannah Willis, who's got problems of her own.

I was not interested in this series as it’s not really my genre… but I love Ciamh’s writing and it’s the best narrator on audible performing. So glad I listened in. Definitely strange times indeed, but thoroughly enjoyable!
