Amazing. Wish it never ended. REALLY REALLY?!?!??! 1900ish. I can't believe how well all the stories hold up.
I am really sad I finished them. I think I'll start it all again!! Guess I won't be buying anymore books soon.

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Masterful Reading And a Great Story!
Revisado: 10-04-13
Whatever happened to that kid in "The Shining"? He never showed up in the Dark Tower...Did he? Well, Here's the Answer!
THANK YOU STEPHEN KING! and family. You did right by this ... shall we say series now. Although The Talisman and Black House bled into The Dark Tower series, those books stood well on their own but somewhat disappointed in that they finished off somewhere else.
Happy to report The Shining and Doctor Sleep are very complete. One of King's finest in that you KNOW he loved this bunch of characters and you feel it in his writing.
Wil Patton reading adds to the creepiness. He draws you in like any good story teller and creates the atmosphere this book deserves. Should he do The Shining too. YES he should. But Cambell Scott does that read justice so listen in pure joy and horror.
Heaven just Heaven! with a touch of Stephen King Hell. The Most Satisfying Audible read so far this year!

Historia
As part of a ruthless program by the totalitarian government, ninth-grade students are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food, and various weapons. Forced to wear special collars that explode when they break a rule, they must fight each other for three days until only one "winner" remains. The elimination contest becomes the ultimate in must-see reality television. A Japanese pulp classic available in English-language audio for the first time, Battle Royale is a potent allegory of what it means to be young and survive in today's dog-eat-dog world.

Long but worth it.
Revisado: 12-27-12
It helps that the author wrote in how many kids were left as the plot goes on. The narrator is slow and methodical but the story really pulls through. Over all, the benchmarks of character throughout the piece are really stand outs. The author really plays up personalities well.

It's nice to visit the jumper world again. I love the depth this story brings. It really brings a more roundness to the storyline. The narration is also great for the story. A good overall experience if you like the jumpers.

Saw the movies. The book is different
Revisado: 04-17-12
Drawn to this book by the movies. Neither of the movies are close to the pace and shock of the book. I enjoyed how the writer draws you in by not telling you what happens until you see the aftermath of any event.
Definitely not for the faint of heart for vampire readers. Gets into the "reality" of what a vampire body is about. Similar to the movies, I like the explanation of what happens if a vampire enters into a room without being asked to enter.
Good Times!
