Now, why did I say that? Awesome book to explain economy and economics to folks from various walks of life. Great examples of Centralised economy and its impact on allocation of resources and economic outcomes. The best (so far) book explaining complex economic theories with simple terms and multiple examples. If anyone believes that the Government can effectively manage our economy and create the most efficient distribution of our resources and prevent scarcity this book is a must to listen to! Don't thank me, thank Thomas Sowell! Mr. Thomas Sowell you are my HERO! I can't wait to listen to all his books. Ayn Raynd would be impressed. A must read!

Historia
In The Next 100 Years, Friedman turns his eye on the future. Drawing on a profound understanding of history and geopolitical patterns dating back to the Roman Empire, he shows that we are now, for the first time in half a millennium, experiencing the dawn of a new historical cycle.

Read and then read it again!

This was one of the few books that had a tremendous impact on my view of the World. Mr.Friedman clearly explained geopolitics and trends in past European and American history. I understand much better "war on terror" and reasons for war in Iraq and Afganistan and the balance of power. The ideas were logical and well supported. In my mind it "made sense". The true question is what can we do to prepare (and prosper) for those changes? How about part 2 Mr.Friedman?

Once again Michael Crichton gives us his trademark combination of page-turning suspense, cutting-edge technology, and extraordinary research. State of Fear is a superb blend of edge-of-your-seat suspense and thought provoking commentary on how information is manipulated in the modern world.

I am a new fan of Crichton!

If you can surrvive the first 40 minutes, this book will be impossible to put down! This is a very well researched novel that challenges you to think and learn more about the environment. I love the title and remember other scare tactics of the past such as natural resource scarcity, over-population or depletion of the ozone layer. There is this one underlying message that danger
is lurking around us and only scientists and Government can save us! Remember the article in "Time" (June 24th.1974)-"Another Ice Age?" where various scientists from US and Canada were talking about a.."harbinger of another ice age"? Yes, mankind was responsible for that cooling trend by fuel burning that was blocking sunlight from reaching the Earth! The scientists that can't predict correctly weather for longer than 7 days are now giving us 40-50 years forecast! How about scientists from Harvard,Yale and Princeton working with USDA and financed by Carnegie Institution and Rockefeller Foundation on "science" called "eugenics" which resulted in 60 000 sterilized Americans and was adopted and implemented in gas chambers by the Germans! ("War against the Weak" by Edwin Black) They were called social progressives! Thank you Mr.Crichton for inspiring me to think again!
