I never expected to see her again. The connection we shared through her brother was severed when he died in combat. Their parents were adamant that I never reach out to them again. I forgot about the pact I made, my promise to make her mine if I wasn’t married by thirty. The only answer I had for her when she showed up with that handwritten note was no. Only Devyn Malloy isn’t the type to take no for an answer.

Enjoyable series

This book fits in with the overall story arc of the series. The "spicy " scenes don't seem as intense or as often as those in earliest books, but that fits with the evolution of the MC to a more family friendly organization.
My biggest problem in this book is that narrator that voices Devynand the editor need to do some study on the correct pronunciation of one of the places in the story. Devyn and Legacy are from Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Bow is pronounced /bou/, as in 'bow and arrow', not /bau/ as in 'to bend' or 'take a bow'. The narrator that voices Legacy says it correctly.
Broken Bow is a town in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, after all.

Worst Jack Reacher ever

The last REAL Jack Reacher book was Blue Moon. Ever since Andrew was added to the writing credits, the detail and background information have just gone away. I have continued to purchase the books up to this point, hoping that after a couple of books and bad reviews, there would be a return to the quality I've always enjoyed. It hasn't happened. Perhaps it is time for the Jack Reacher series to come to an end. If you enjoy stories with lots of mindless action and very little plot progression, this could be your book.
