Historia
My name is Mercy Thompson Hauptman, and my mate, Adam, is the werewolf who leads the Columbia Basin Pack, the pack charged with keeping the people who live and work in the Tri-Cities of Washington State safe. It’s a hard job, and it doesn’t leave much room for side quests. Which is why when I needed to travel to Montana to help my brother, I intended to go by myself.

Better than the last one
Revisado: 07-01-24
This sounded more like a compilation of short stories that didn't make it into previous books, than a well planned continuation of the lives of the characters. I'll continue to be a big fan of Ms. Briggs, but I've got to say to her - I'm sick and tired of the damned vampires. Just kill the evil things and move onto something new - please.

Historia
Logan Tom is doomed to remember the past and determined to rescue the future. Far behind him lies a boyhood cut violently short by his family’s slaughter, when the forces of madness and hate swept our world after decadent excesses led to civilization’s downfall. Somewhere ahead of him rests the only chance to beat back the minions of evil that are systematically killing and enslaving the last remnants of humanity.

Find a VERY quiet place to listen to this book
Revisado: 02-14-24
I was very frustrated while trying to hear this narration. Whispered conversations and lowered voices might be very effective if the listener is sitting in a sound-proof room; but are very annoying when driving along the interstate or in any environment with normal background noise.
Dick Hill also chooses to use a nasal accent for some characters that grates like nails on a chalk board. That they are good characters adds to the annoyance.
And once you've increased the volume to 35 - 40, he suddenly starts a passage with a booming male voice that has you lunging to turn it down!
This is probably the best series that Tery Brooks has written, but I really didn't want to wear out the volume control knob on my sound system while listening to it.

Couldn't survive listening to even the 1st day of the story. Both main characters were so aggravating and unlikeable! Like being forced to listen to two people who hate each other bicker endlessly.

Historia
For solitary novelist Jorie Price, true love seems as fictional as the shape-shifting creatures she writes about in her paranormal romances. Griffin Westmore doesn't believe in love, either, but she's one of those not-so-fictional shape-shifters who secretly live among humans. When Jorie's writing gets uncomfortably close to the truth, Griffin is sent to investigate and, if necessary, kill the author to protect the secrets of her kind. But when Griffin unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Jorie, her world is turned upside down.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Creaky & scratchy Old Man voice was a bust. Mispronouncing names was a fatal mistake. I didn't make it to Hogwarts, just bailed off and looked for something better.

Historia
The collapse of The Flow, the interstellar pathway between the planets of the Interdependency, has accelerated. Entire star systems - and billions of people - are becoming cut off from the rest of human civilization. This collapse was foretold through scientific prediction...and yet, even as the evidence is obvious and insurmountable, many still try to rationalize, delay and profit from, these final days of one of the greatest empires humanity has ever known.

Revisado: 04-25-23
Sorry, but this one is boring. And when one character dropped the F-bomb every other word, it just got to be too much to take. People who speak like this do exist, but they don't deserve to be recognized in text.

Drowning in Details!!!
Revisado: 01-12-23
After only 3 hours, I found myself shouting at my iPhone "I don't CARE about ....", so I had to stop listening. This book could be really good but it needs a ruthless editor to cut out about 1/3 of the details and character development. Also, the action scenes were really unrealistic; it seemed as if the main characters were moving in slow motion while the events were speeding by.

Historia
No connections. Play it safe. These were the rules Ivey lived her life by. Until she hit Mustang, Colorado, a perfectly imperfect town where the citizens were welcoming, and one of them included the tall, beautiful, macho-man rancher cowboy Grayson Cody. On the run for a decade, Ivey knew she was supposed to play it safe. But she was tired of being on the run. She wanted normal. She wanted real. She wanted a home. And she wanted Grayson Cody. And Grayson Cody wanted Ivey.

If I had a dollar for every curse word in this story, I could buy Audible and maybe Amazon too. It didn't add one good thing to the effectiveness of the work, just made everyone seem crude.

Narration was not good
Revisado: 11-30-20
Hard to imagine that anyone could read Heinlein and make it sound dull, but Mr. James did just that. Anyone who has ever heard an army instructor addressing recruits - in film or real life - wouldn't relate to the relaxed, calm narration of this book. Was no one in the studio listening to the narration prior to it's release?

Historia
Taking out bad guys is in Jake Connelly's DNA as much as strength, fearlessness, and Greek-god good looks. So is rescuing women like Chelsea Harris, who's kidnapped by a brutal escaped convict. What isn't in the cowboy hunk's DNA, Chelsea fears, is an interest in relationships - especially with a jilted size-14 plain Jane like herself. With the killer on the loose and a Texas-size blizzard raging, Jake and Chelsea take refuge in an icy farmhouse. Sudden sparks between them turn on plenty of heat!

How many stupid mistakes do you get?
Revisado: 01-22-20
This girl is charming but dumber than a sack of hammers. The author is to blame; no normal person would be so dumb.
The cowboy hero is just as dumb.
The story would be great if the author didn't mentally incapacitate the main characters.
