Wonderful story with good descriptions

I enjoyed learning more about Cuba’s history but also about how it felt to be in Cuba from the perspective of the Peres family.

Great story with good messages
Revisado: 07-12-23
I really liked this book overall. Sometimes the story was hard to follow because of the different perspectives that kept changing. But once I got about third of the way through it started coming together more. The last section was very sweet with the father giving his perspective and all he learned as a father.

Wonderful story

I love this story with all its hopeful messages. I’m still not sure what is truth and what isn’t but in the end I guess I don’t think it matters.

Historia
Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize David McCullough tells the dramatic story behind the story about the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright.
On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright's Wright Flyer became the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The Age of Flight had begun. How did they do it? And why?

What we owe to them.

How I appreciate the research into this most American of families, and how much I appreciate knowing not only the step-by-step process of Wilbur and Orville's work, but also their gallantry and civility, their good natures and amazing humility!

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Great inspiring story
Revisado: 12-31-14
I liked the story and way the author write about it with a focus on Joe's character but also getting into a bit about the other men's characters and lives. The information about the boat and building them was interesting as well. The reader did a very nice job too.
