Very, very bad
Revisado: 07-15-23
The front loaded testimonials are utterly cringe inducing, followed by a boomer-esque self aggrandizing "IN MY DAY" speech from the author where he goes on to normalize workplace violence and sht on people crowd sourcing for their projects. Don't waste your time.

Historia
The Words of My Perfect Teacher is the classic commentary on the preliminary practices of the Longchen Nyingtig—one of the best-known cycles of teachings and a spiritual treasure of the Nyingmapa school—the oldest Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Patrul Rinpoche makes the technicalities of his subject accessible through a wealth of stories, quotations, and references to everyday life. His style of mixing broad colloquialisms, stringent irony, and poetry has all the life and atmosphere of an oral teaching.

Mispronouncing Every Other Term
Revisado: 06-19-23
I'm not sure how the Padmakara Group allowed this person to read for the book. The narrator mispronounces almost every single Dharma term in Sanskrit and Tibetan.

Historia
Forget Hollywood's portrayal of violence and mayhem in ancient warfare and find out what the ancient battles were really like. What were the weapons, tactics, armor, training, and logistics? What were the crucial factors that could turn the tide of battle, giving one side victory and the other defeat? In 24 exciting lectures, Professor Fagan introduces you to the many fateful battles that became crucibles of history: the fearsome clash between the Athenians and the invading Persian army at the Marathon, Alexander the Great's crushing hammer-and-anvil tactics against the Persians at Gaugemela, and the Roman mastery of siege warfare at the Jewish fortress of Masada.

Misleading title but still good.
Revisado: 04-30-19
I did buy these lectures in hopes of covering the varying types of battle through different ancient cultures, however, this course is focused on the ancient "West" (Greece, Rome, etc). There's also an obvious Western bias as to what warfare is and the lecturer is some what unapologetic about such a superiority complex. Despite these things it was still an interesting and informative course.

Pronunciation
Revisado: 06-11-18
If you're going to read words of another language, in this case Sanskrit, you should learn to pronounce things proper. The narrator pronounces "Samsara" as Sam-sarah instead of SAHm - SAHra, "dharmakaya" is dharma-KAY-uh when it should be dharma-k-EYE-AH, and so on. It may seem trivial but it reveals to the audience that the narrator hasn't done his home work, thus making it less appealing. Josiah, do your home work as a narrator.

Historia
This classic course was recorded in the mid 1980's as we neared the end of the second Christian Millennium; many prophetic voices were being raised to speak of revelation and other apocalyptic visions. Some western mystics even mentioned the future Buddha, Maitreya, in connection with a returning Christ or Christ impulse. What do the Buddhists, themselves, say about the end of the world as we know it? What is Buddhist apocalyptic? This workshop examines these questions with full rigor.

at the end they cut off R. Thurman in the middle of him telling the story of Asanga, making it seem as if Asanga never achieves the vision of Maitreya, a huge mistake! please include the ending audio because to a new comer this ending is utterly misleading.

Historia
In the classic best seller, Introduction to Tantra, Lama Yeshe offered a profound and wonderfully clear glimpse into the sophisticated practices of Tibetan Buddhist tantra. This present book, the last major teachings of this great lama, opens up the world of advanced practices for Highest Yoga Tantra initiates in much the same way his earlier work opened up the world of tantra in general. Lama's own realization of the transformative power of these practices comes through, inspiring his students to discover for themselves their own capacity for inexhaustible bliss.

Reader's pronunciations are the only issue
Revisado: 08-09-16
Any additional comments?
The reader, Fajer Al-Kaisi, is wonderful. Only slight issue with a few words off the top of my head: bodhichitta should be pronounced: Bo - de - CHI - tah and rinpoche should be: rin - poe - SHAY. Little nit picky but crucial for pronunciation.

Any additional comments?
This book is full of enchanting stories of Lord Ganesha and a supporting cast of other Hindu deities. These children friendly (PG) stories are full of colorful scenarios with moral lessons and memorable characters. The narration is very well done; the only thing that could be better is if there was more to listen to.
