Very entertaining, a very unique point of view
Revisado: 11-05-18
I thought this was an excellent book. Seeing the story both from the POV of the protagonist, as well as his "Nanodaemons". It was well done, the voices for the daemons were fun and interesting, and the story had a couple of nice twists and turns.

Historia
While an ugly war with its neighbouring realm continues to rage, the insulated members of Ruritania’s upper class laugh and dance their way through their superficial lives. Some people, increasingly disillusioned by the pointless conflict, start to consider how the king might be persuaded - or forced - to end it. Meanwhile, an increasing number of items of great value are going missing from those attending these high society gatherings. At whom will the finger of suspicion point? Who can be trusted?

I found the stories to be ho hum and mundane
Revisado: 10-30-18
I was a struggle to keep my attention. On the surface the stories would appear to be interesting, but there really wasn't much meat to them, and where the author tried to put in a few twists, there wasn't enough explanation for them to be fulfilling.
The narrator was fine, but the books were unexciting and didn't hold my interest.

Nice Indiana Jones style adventure
Revisado: 10-30-18
Listened to this on a road trip last week. Overall the story was enjoyable, there were enough twists and turns to keep you thinking, and a nice bit of action to keep things moving. The only issue I had, was that the narrator didn't do a consistent job of sustaining accents. For example, several time early in Oracle, there was a hispanic character that the narrator would come out of accent frequently, it was a little disorienting.
But, overall, I enjoyed the book, and it certainly helped keep time flowing.

Historia
In Mammina's first fairy tale novel, the theories of justice and corruption are tested. This tale is about a ghostly knight named Spirit Warrior who dared to defend his own people against an assortment of villains, including that of an evil corrupt king and a vengeful sorcerer. In a quest to secure justice and peace, Spirit Warrior selflessly challenges all obstacles at once--giving rise to this classic saga.

This was a nice drive time listen
Revisado: 10-01-18
While, I thought the story left a little to be desired (too many time I thought, "why didn't the Spirit Warrior just...."), it was overall enjoyable, and I would listen to books from this author again. Also, the story was being told around the camp fire, but there was a large section in the middle, where I think the author forgot that, then towards the end, began interacting with the audience again. That part came off a little awkward.
Ms. Alder did a fine job on the narration. She was very easy to listen to, and played the parts well.

Fine story, well told
Revisado: 10-01-18
I thoroughly enjoyed this listen, the narrators did a nice job of the playing the 2 protagonists, and the book was well written. It did get a little wacky at one point, but the author got it back on track, so, no harm, no foul.
I enjoyed the back and forth between the two roles.

the ghosts come alive
Revisado: 09-12-18
Overall, this was an enjoyable listen. I found the end to be a bit too sudden for my taste (but I never have liked abrupt endings, I prefer the "and 10 years later, this is where everyone is".), but overall a good story.
Mr Urry's narration of the book was also enjoyable. He has a nice smooth, but not overdone southern accent that lends itself well to the first person narration of the protagonist from Arkansas.

Well told story, looking forward to book 2
Revisado: 08-30-18
I enjoyed both the story and Ms. Hucton’s telling of it. The characters had good depth and the story was interesting and keep me wanting to come back and listen for more. I enjoyed the concepts of different “colors” of magic. The end may have wrapped up a little too neatly, but overall it was an enjoyable listen.

Historia
Three hundred million years ago, the galactic community was taken by surprise. A catastrophic war with a hostile entity threatened to destroy all life until the fight was postponed by a calamitous event known as the Great Conflation. With the majority of pre-Conflation empires in ruins and the Ascended Biologicals wiped out, the hastily formed Wanderer Enclave tasked its fleet with unearthing answers and continuing the fight. One lone ship has found something: an innocuous world it had marked for routine decontamination that may hold vital answers.

It was going very well, and then it just ended...
Revisado: 08-10-18
I fully understand that this is book 1 is a series, but it has to have some sort of conclusion, instead, two characters are having a conversation (that's not really related to anything that's already happened), and all of a sudden, Mr. Price says..."This has been Gil's world"....no satisfaction of any of the story lines, no real pointing forwards to what's going to happen, no cliff hanger...nothing...
I was really enjoying it up to that point. It was well written, and Mr. Price has a very luxurious easy to listen to voice, but the ending...well, for me anyway, there wasn't one.

Accent too think for me

I listen while driving, and the thick scottish (?) accent required too much concentration. As such, I was missing paragraphs at a time when I needed more focus on the road.
