Not my favorite.

I love R K Lilley’s work and was excited to see a new book that is a spin off from the In Flight/Tristan & Danika series. However, this one fell flat for me. It was hard to get into the story line when the narrator was mispronouncing words and cramming phrases together. Her voice was soothing, but I Donny think it was a good fit for this story. She used American phrases and idioms but in a French (?) accent. I found myself trying to remember if she was raised in another country but all I could remember was that her family was originally from France, not necessarily her. Anywho, beyond the narrator, it just wasn’t the best piece of work Lilley has done. I’ve been a HUGE fan ever since the In Flight series (that’s one is better than 50 IMO). I’ll still read what comes next, but I’m hoping for a better narrator.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! I have done so many times already. The series is amazing and this book, in particular, is my favorite.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oh gosh, this is hard since they are all so good. I love the fact the Circe is such a strong character. She doesn't simper or whine and handles everything like a lot of real life people do. She's not perfect, but understands her flaws. She apologizes when she's wrong and holds other accountable for their actions.

Have you listened to any of Tillie Hooper’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Tillie is flawless! There are very few narrators with which I can be 100% happy at the end of the book. I feel like she narrates the way the author intends the readers to hear it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't read the story. There are several points in the book that are exceptional and move me every time. I have read this story at least 5 times now and each time it's just as amazing as the last.

Any additional comments?

The two main characters, Circe and Dax, remind me of Daenerys and Drogo (in appearance at least). Also, Kristen Ashley writes so you can picture exactly what is happening as if you are there. She's clear without being overly wordy which is hard to do. I know that I can pick up any of her books and end wanting more from her.

Disappointed

Unfortunately, I was not happy with Mr. Beautiful. I found the book to be rushed and all over the place. I loved the first 3 books, but am regretting even listening to the 4th.
