George Orwell's classic satire of the Russian Revolution is an intimate part of our contemporary culture, quoted so often that we tend to forget who wrote the original words! This must-read is also a must-listen!

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

GREAT ENDING TO A GREAT SERIES... almost
Revisado: 11-06-15
What made the experience of listening to Of Noble Family the most enjoyable?
Mary Kowal is a fantastic performing voice. Her character voices are amazing. In addition, the other 2 narrators were a surprisingly delightful and gave more depth to the story.
If you’ve listened to books by Mary Robinette Kowal before, how does this one compare?
I have never been disappointed in a narration by Mary Kowal.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Depth.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This entire series made me laugh and cry.
Any additional comments?
The very last line of the entire series broke my heart. If that line was cut, I would have come away with a much happier feeling of the series as a whole. Unfortunately the last line is what dropped my star rating.

Historia
In I Am Not a Serial Killer, John Wayne Cleaver saved his town from a murderer even more appalling than the serial killers he obsessively studies. But it turns out even demons have friends, and the disappearance of one has brought another to Clayton County. Soon there are new victims for John to work on at the mortuary and a new mystery to solve. But John has tasted death, and the dark nature he used as a weapon - the terrifying persona he calls "Mr. Monster" - might now be using him.

It was a fantastic sequel!
Revisado: 11-06-15
What did you love best about Mr. Monster?
The voice with which the author writes John Cleaver, is the best thing about this. The mystery of the story drew me to the end and straight into the sequels.
What other book might you compare Mr. Monster to and why?
I might compare this to the "Odd Thomas" by Dean Koontz because the voice is similar and they both deal with the supernatural in a slightly disturbing way.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was the last part of the book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Again the last scene moved me. Out of all 4 books in this series, the last scene was one of the greatest endings I have heard.

Above average Epic Fantasy
Revisado: 11-06-15
What did you love best about Age of the Seer?
I loved the world building in this fantasy. There was a lot imaginative creation and it told a good story.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters are unique. I found it interesting. The mystery of the political intrigue and the plight of the slave was entertaining. I was curious how everything was going to tie up in the end.
What does Richard Evert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His character voices were intriguing and entertaining. For instance if I tried to read the dwarf speech, I'm not sure I would have understood it as well as he delivered. Overall well done. Would like to hear more with him narrating.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. it is very detailed oriented, and would have been far too much to read or listen to all in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
I am curious to see where this series goes.
