Ultimately glad I got it.

I was afraid when I started the book that I wouldn't be able to finish because the narration is not great... a bit monotone and some of his pronunciation is off (the Latin is appalling). He loosened up a bit as the book went on, though, and the story is compelling enough to make up for it. I was glad to see that the second of the trilogy is narrated by someone else.
