Narrator hard to understand
Revisado: 05-02-25
While I used to think George Guidall was the perfect narrator for Craig Johnson’s books, in recent years his narration has been increasingly difficult to understand. He drops his voice at the end of almost every sentence and the words are incomprehensible. Really detracts significantly from the books

Historia
After a broken engagement, Cher decides to leave heartbreak behind by signing up for a holiday house swap. As Cher is moving into her temporary new apartment, Eliot is moving his ex’s belongings out, and he soon finds himself offering to play tour guide. He’s nursing a broken heart too, and spending time showing the beautiful traveler around is exactly what he needs.

Ultimately entertaining but inaccurate too often
Revisado: 06-01-23
While entertaining, this book was rife with inaccuracies. For instance there’s no way someone with narcolepsy would be allowed to join the Navy Seals. Nor would there be a way to conceal it.

Historia
Teenage sisters Eve and Vera never imagined their summer vacation would be spent in the Arctic, tagging along on their mother’s scientific expedition. But there’s a lot about their lives lately that hasn’t been going as planned, and truth be told, their single mother might not be so happy either. Now in Siberia with a bunch of serious biologists, Eve and Vera are just bored enough to cause trouble. Fooling around in the permafrost, they accidentally discover a perfectly preserved, four-thousand-year-old baby mammoth, and things finally start to get interesting.

Porn and not even well written porn
Revisado: 10-27-22
There should be a warning in the description of the book that there are graphic descriptions of gratuitous sex. It was way over done. Story poorly written and not even marginally credible. No wonder it was free.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a book this much. It ties up in a nice little bow at the end but that’s ok sometimes. Highly recommend.
