This was a quick listen and it was ok. Definitely a forgettable story because there really wasn't anything that stood out or made the tale special. It passed a long drive but otherwise I probably would've left it unfinished.

Interesting story but the author lacks subtlety. The plot was interesting and it wasn't hard to follow but it really needs editing. It's as if the author doesn't trust that the reader will grasp the significance of some details. Because he repeats so many of the same facts it makes the story predictable. I don't think it was a waste of time but I'm not sure I'll be continuing the series.

The narration is good but the story is just ok. I liked the action but I don't really understand the romance. We're expected to believe that main character is a strong, genius, master thief but when she meets the agent chasing her she suddenly turns to goo. I enjoy a bit of romance. Nick and Norah style. I just HATED the way she became stupid around the man.

not sure if I'll be listening to the next story.

Cozy and amusing

I bought this because I love Graham Norton and I thought it would be zany and wild like his show. I was pleasantly surprised though that this story is more of a cozy British mystery. It has great characters who, of course, are all hiding something. If you enjoy the stories like that but with more humor and laughs then I would highly recommend this.

The fact that Norton also narrates this book makes it even better. His voice is perfect and I definitely wouldn't have enjoyed this book as much without it.

If you enjoy Criminal Minds...

It's like Criminal Minds academy for teens. I enjoyed the characters and the writing is quick and witty. The main character makes some questionable choices that can partly be written off because she's a teenager.

The ending was my least favorite part though. I thought it was a bit cliche. I still want to read the rest of the series.

I just wish Audible would add them to their library!

Excited for the next book!

I really enjoyed this story and the main characters were really well developed. The author didn't hold back on the uncomfortable details, what it's like to be held in bed for years and to give birth in a tiny room.

My only complaint is that Detective Harte is such a badass professionally but such a wimp in her personal life. I was fuming everytime she let her daughter tear into her. Just talk to her already!

I am excited to read the next book, however.

I enjoyed listening to this book. It was an easy listen and entertaining in a teen CSI kind of way. The science seems sound, though I admittedly don't know much about that kind of stuff. Its definitely for a younger teen audience but I'm still glad i purchased it.

The narrator was great! Her voices for various characters were good but not annoying and shrill like others can sometimes be.

My only big complaint is that Audible doesn't have the second book available!

Not as good as the first book. I'm not sure how much I like the main character. Also, I'm not sure how this qualifies as YA. Parts of the story are really violent

The plot is repetitive though. Gwen gets caught, tortured, escapes. Wash, rinse, repeat.

A great second story

I like most of this story. Zoe becomes sort of annoying and I wish she'd just break up with Austin already. otherwise it's a funny book and an amusing story.
