Good, but not great!
Revisado: 06-10-18
There was a lot of hype surrounding the book. I was excited about the Reese Witherspoon Book Club. That was the main reason I purchased the book. Overall the book was good. I did find some parts to be predictable. However, the book held my attention until the end.
The author did an amazing job with the narration! I would be interested in listening to other books she has narrated.

Historia
On a day that begins like any other, Hal receives a mysterious letter bequeathing her a substantial inheritance. She realizes very quickly that the letter was sent to the wrong person - but also that the cold-reading skills she's honed as a tarot card reader might help her claim the money. Soon, Hal finds herself at the funeral of the deceased...where it dawns on her that there is something very, very wrong about this strange situation and the inheritance at the center of it. Full of spellbinding menace and told in Ruth Ware's signature suspenseful style, an addictive thriller.

Ruth Ware doesn’t disappoint!
Revisado: 06-05-18
This is my fourth book to read by Ruth Ware. Over time her books have become better and better! It doesn’t take long to get into this book! You might think you have it figured, but just wait! Do pay close attention to the characters and their names. I was a bit confused at one moment, but quickly sorted it out.

Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

Don't let the length keep you from listening!
Revisado: 02-26-18
I originally got this book, because it was on sale and I was out of credits at the time. A book I didn't think I would be interested in the least bit originally, turned out to be one of my favorite audiobooks! The book started out pretty dramatic from the get go! From there I was hooked! Throughout the book I felt like I was on the edge of my seat, wanting to know was Theo going to get caught with the paining! I never saw the plot twist coming! Caught off guard is an understatement! It is worth the listen!

Great performance of a classic!
Revisado: 02-26-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, the book by Tolkien is a classic, but the performance by Rob Inglis took it to the next level! He perfectly captured the character's voices.
Which character – as performed by Rob Inglis – was your favorite?
I can't choose just one! Every character was given their own unique voice by the talented Rob Inglis! It was very easy to keep track of who was speaking.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I had the free time, I wouldn't ever hit pause!

Historia
Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story—it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again . . .

Creepy!
Revisado: 05-17-17
Prepare yourself for very dark characters! Overall the story was interesting and kept my attention, but I found it a little hard to read with how twisted some of the characters seemed to be. This was my second Gillian Flynn book. I loved how Gone Girl kept you guessing thought the novel. My hopes were that Sharp Objects would be about the same. I am a little hesitant to read another one of her books at this time.
