Historia
For generations, the solar system—Mars, the Moon, the Asteroid Belt—was humanity's great frontier. Until now. The alien artifact working through its program under the clouds of Venus has appeared in Uranus's orbit, where it has built a massive gate that leads to a starless dark. Jim Holden and the crew of the Rocinante are part of a vast flotilla of scientific and military ships going out to examine the artifact. But behind the scenes, a complex plot is unfolding, with the destruction of Holden at its core.

From Mike Talbot's journal: "The End...has come and gone. This is the new beginning, the new world order and it sucks. The end for humanity came the moment the US government sent out the infected flu shots. My name is Michael Talbot and this is my journal. I'm writing this because no one's tomorrow is guaranteed, and I have to leave something behind to those who may follow."

Best Zombie/Vampire Novel EVER!
Revisado: 08-11-22
So I read the first two books on Kindle a few years ago. I guess I’m just one of those sick folks that get off on descriptions of flesh eating monsters. I was truly blown away when I discovered this series is a fusion of two genres…Zombies and Vampires…This series rocks! I like it so much I’m considering buying a Frenchie and naming him Hank.
I’ve read the other reviews complaining of Talbet’s asides and “how can a former Marine be a germaphobe?” I’m a 22 year army vet and I hate bugs and if I was really being honest, I’d tell ya that I don’t like germs either…you take a field dump where the only water you have is on your hip and tell me you wouldn’t be skeeved out shaking someone’s hands…add deploying to the Middle East where the folks there actually wipe their ass with their hand…nope…I can seriously identify with Mike Talbet. I love his inner monologues.
Mike is the guy I hope to be if there is a real zombie apocalypse…smart, caring, sarcastic, funny and humble…”.
To the author: Mark, great job and thanks for a great story. I appreciate it and though I’m a bit of a tight wad when it comes to spending money, I am glad I bought your books…I will continue to do so with your books…if only because I have enjoyed my time reading your Zombie Fallout series and hanging out with the Talbets (and BT). Thanks again!

Great story; mediocre narration

Loved the story, but after listening to all the other books nearly back to back, I cringed at the sound of the new narrator.

Great finish!
Revisado: 01-13-22
I listened to all the books in sequence over a month finishing today. In the same vein as the Horatio Hornblower series, Jack Campbell delivers naval adventures in space. I’m glad I listened…it was worth the credits. An easy listen by a great narrator and a good yarn. I’m sad I’ve reached the end.

Exciting Book Great Narrator
Revisado: 08-09-20
Got to say that the story is exciting and the author does a good job keeping the audience “on the edge of their seat.” I’ll say that the protagonist, is a close likeness of Ryan Reynolds’ character portrayal of Dead Pool. Both characters have a strong moral compass. Admittedly, Robertson’s protagonist is not nearly so vulgar as Marvel’s Dead Pool.
The narration is amazing and really makes this book a joy to listen to. The narrator sounds a lot like Ryan Reynolds. I don’t know if this book would be as enjoyable without the narrator. He brings out the humor in a way that makes the story awesome.
I highly recommend this book for adults but not children. There are adult themes that I feel are inappropriate for kid such as a continual sexual content and the book even discusses rape and trafficking of women by the villain. I will say that there is very little graphic description of sexual acts, but sex is a constant throughout the book.
Overall rating is 5/5 for the audible book. It’s a great bit of entertainment that doesn’t take a lot of brain power.
