So often a leader is appointed based on their technical skills at the job rather than their ability to lead team members. The author comprehensively explains how to overcome this issue by outlining simple steps anybody can follow. People are emotional creatures and need more than just a paycheck to motivate them. As such, this book addresses the emotional intelligence needed to bring out the best in people. An excellent read!

Comprehensive Workout Guide

In the past, listening to an audio book about training would have seemed odd. This audiobook changed my mind. It helped me understand the "why" behind strength training. I'm not disciplined enough to memorize a lot of exercise routines but if I understand the "why" I can adapt the basic exercises to suit conditions like home, gym, or traveling. The section on sleep was of particular value to me as I'd never really given it much thought but now its a focus for my recovery periods. Overall, a well researched and presented guide.

This is the ideal starter book for gardening. Its not overwhelming but it covers all the bases comprehensively. It also made me realize that managing a simple garden is much more than just planting seeds and watering plants. Its empowering to create your own food, it teaches respect for nature, and it teaches responsibility for other living things. I think anybody that listens to this book will be energized to get started with their garden as soon as possible!

Finding Passion is Important

This is the second book I've read on finding your passion and I'm surprised more time isn't spent on this topic. The author does a great job of explaining the importance of finding it and how to incorporate it into your life. Not everybody can be a writer or a musician, nor can everybody use their passion to become wealthy. However, the author explains how to look inwardly to identify your passion and apply it to your life, whether its in your work or in your free time. I found this an uplifting message and it has inspired me to explore this subject further. A thought provoking book.

I've known several alcoholics and their battles inspired me to read this book. It presents a clear and well researched guide to how alcoholism affects the mind and body and more importantly, how to overcome it. The steps are logical and well constructed. I recommend this book for people who are thinking about joining AA or seeking help and want to know where to start. This book will help you start an important road to recovery.

Helps me feel younger

Its so easy to get lazy when it comes to stretching so I was hoping this book would be what I needed to resume the practice. It delivered many times over. I'm a frequent tennis player and the stretches I've learned from this book have already proven helpful. I walk onto the court with more confidence because I feel more agile after doing 4 or 5 stretches I learned from this book. My advice is to listen to this book and implement the stretches gradually without pushing yourself too much. After a week or so you'll notice your more flexible and its motivation to keep going.

Simple and Effective

I've read a lot of books about stock market investing but this one has had the most impact on me. The author's simple and straight forward approach allows me to think at a macro level instead of getting bogged down in the latest stock tips and shiny objects on Bloomberg. The book is a great balance between diversification from ETF's and finding growth in companies poised to benefit from current and future trends. Lastly, I appreciate the psychological tips. I have so many friends who are "waiting for the drop" before they invest in the market. The author explains why people think this way and how it limits or damages your returns. Overall, an excellent approach to a complex subject.

After reading a lot of diet books and blogs, this book finally put things into perspective for me. It addresses "how" to diet, which in some ways is more important than "what" to eat. We all have some idea about which foods make us healthy and reduce our weight, but actually doing it is surprisingly hard. The author takes you step by step through the practical tips needed to stay on course, especially when it gets tough and you want that sugar or salt high. Each time I feel temptation luring me into pleasure eating, I hear her words of advice. A very helpful book!

A year ago I wouldn't have been interested in this book but things have changed! I liked the handy tips on keeping food in an edible state for lengthy periods of time. Also, the specific tips on which foods to store made things easy. I plan to select about 10 favorites from the ideas in the book to keep on hand for future emergencies. Hopefully no emergency will come and I can just eat the food!

If you don't know what search engines and social media apps actually sell, the answer is "you"! The book opened my eyes to how we pay for those "free" web searches and social posts. These companies are making billions from us and its easy to ignore, until something goes wrong. Then we're on our own. This audio version was a surprisingly good way to absorb some technical information and practical tips. I now feel empowered to protect my data and my identity.
