Relevant to toadys geopolitical landscape.
Revisado: 01-13-25
O'Brien broaches the elephant in the room with a fictional but realistic look at what it may look like when the ballon goes up and China moves on Tiawan. From the political to the military taboos that arent spoken of in polite circles he lays them bare in shockingly clear and focused writing. Sometimes the book gets bogged down in play by play military action, but it almost follows a war college type text, as if you were following the narration of real world war documentation.

A well balanced Haller/Bosch tail that humanize both. Making a lawyer and an ex-cop endearing is no small feet. Hats off to Connelly for the ease in which he pulls it off.

In the midst of China’s colossal buildup, the undersea battles for control of the South China, East China, and Philippine Seas continues. China and the United States have put a majority of their submarines to sea, both seeking to effect a winning solution. The dangers of China’s missiles persist, effectively keeping America’s mighty carriers away from the conflict. But time is running out, and an answer to the threat must be found if the United States hopes to retain any hope of keeping the South China Sea out of China’s hands.

Historia
When the apocalypse happens only one thing matters...family. From the author of the wildly successful debut novel Family Reunion, P. Mark DeBryan, comes a new and terrifying Apocalypse Family novel. The South African flu had put the fear of God into the world. But the press and the government assured all that a revolutionary nanovaccine had stopped the outbreak in its tracks. The vaccine had stopped the flu, yes. But two weeks later a strange and deadly side effect became apparent, a side effect worse than the flu - far, far worse.

Historia
United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.
