Sound design is terrible.
Revisado: 09-01-22
The narrators are great, story is good, but the music suddenly blasting during transition paragraphs is just distracting and ruins the whole mood. If that were changed, it would be worthy of 4 stars.

Historia
How can we make intelligent decisions about our increasingly technology-driven lives if we don’t understand the difference between the myths of pseudoscience and the testable hypotheses of science? Pulitzer Prize-winning author and distinguished astronomer Carl Sagan argues that scientific thinking is critical not only to the pursuit of truth but to the very well-being of our democratic institutions.

My favorite Carl Sagan book.

I fall asleep to this every night, I've listened to it hundreds of times. It's so soothing, and Carey Elwes gives an incredible performance, as always.

Historia
The United States is suffering from an epidemic of tragic gun violence. While a political debate rages around the topic of gun control, it remains important to understand the causes and possible remedies for gun violence within the current system. Andrew Papachristos is a sociologist who uses applied network science to study patterns of street violence in urban areas. His research shows that such violence is highly non-random; knowing something about the social networks of perpetrators and victims can help identify who might be at heightened risk of gun violence. It’s an interesting example ...

Wonderful addition to the Stormlight Archive
Revisado: 11-28-20
It was well worth the wait for this latest fantastic novel in an already amazing series. Only small issue I had was Kate Reading randomly slipping into other accents; though, I assume this was only because she had recently been narrating something else. Not that big of deal and only happens a couple of times, but still something that somebody along the line should have noticed and corrected.

Historia
A belief in free will touches nearly everything that human beings value. It is difficult to think about law, politics, religion, public policy, intimate relationships, morality—as well as feelings of remorse or personal achievement—without first imagining that every person is the true source of his or her thoughts and actions. And yet the facts tell us that free will is an illusion.

Absolutely mind-blowing material.
Revisado: 10-20-17
Sam Harris is clever and articulate, as always.
He makes a strong and often funny case against free will, and I don't think any other narrator could bring these points to life the way that he did.
