Historia
The many lives of theoretical physicist Elsie Hannaway have finally caught up with her. By day, she’s an adjunct professor, toiling away at grading labs and teaching thermodynamics in the hopes of landing tenure. By other day, Elsie makes up for her non-existent paycheck by offering her services as a fake girlfriend, tapping into her expertly honed people-pleasing skills to embody whichever version of herself the client needs. Honestly, it’s a pretty sweet gig—until her carefully constructed Elsie-verse comes crashing down.

Loved the Type 1 Diabetes Rep!
Revisado: 08-29-23
Loved Elsie’s character, loved the peephole into Academia, LOVED and appreciated the empowering/realistic depiction of a person with type 1 diabetes. When Jack takes interest in her needs as a diabetic, I swooned! That said, I would’ve liked a little more development of Jack’s character, though it’s a legitimate creative choice to let us as readers do the legwork in imagining his POV. I loved the narrator’s performance and the choices she made with characters.

This rom-com hit all the bases! Loved it!

This story had Emily in Paris vibes, but accessible and down-to-earth. Main characters were relatable, and had believable chemistry. I loved the realistic depiction of the FMC as a high school teacher. Smart, witty banter, moments of real depth, DELICIOUS tension. Fantastic casting, the narrators were so easy to listen to and played these characters so well.
