Historia
From freezing infantrymen huddled in bloodied trenches on the front lines to intricate political maneuvering and tense strategy sessions in European capitals, noted historian John Toland tells of the unforgettable final year of the First World War. In this audiobook, participants on both sides, from enlisted men to generals and prime ministers to monarchs, vividly recount the battles, sensational events, and behind-the-scenes strategies that shaped the climactic, terrifying year.

Oddly biased, but worthy account of the period

Very comprehensive
Revisado: 08-11-24
A very comprehensive review of the year 1918. The book is more of a military history than a political history, but doesn’t include a lot of political anecdotes. Overall, it is a very interesting book and I highly recommend it in either print or audible.

Historia
Best-selling author, psychologist, and world-renowned expert on dog behavior and training Dr. Stanley Coren presents the most informative, in-depth, fascinating book yet on dogs. Acclaimed for its solid scientific research and entertaining, eminently accessible style, How Dogs Think gives you the insight that you need to understand the silly, quirky, and apparently irrational behaviors that dogs demonstrate, as well as those stunning flashes of brilliance and creativity that they also can display.

Great, fun book!
Revisado: 05-10-20
This is a rather longer book to listen to than most but it’s well worth it if you have a dog. It’s fun and easy to listen to but really digs into the present scientific findings of dogs. It’s great for dog owners of course but I highly recommend it for anyone looking to adopt a dog. The writer is a scientist but clearly loves dogs. This makes it even more worth listening to.

Historia
David Cameron was elected Conservative leader in 2005, promising to modernize the party following its three successive electoral defeats. He became Prime Minister in 2010, forming Britain’s first coalition government in 70 years, at a moment of economic crisis, and went on to win the first outright Conservative majority for 23 years at the 2015 general election.

Interesting and thoughtful book
Revisado: 11-05-19
I really enjoyed listening to this book. It was interesting getting to know much better the decisions that have now become famous. As someone who is not in the UK, the book was easy to understand and Cameron added some explanations for us foreigners. I did like Cameron a lot more after listening to this book and appreciate the insight into a very eventful several years of UK history.

Great information
Revisado: 09-02-19
This book is nicely written and provides a more realistic plan than some other books I have listened to such as those that expect you to be a financial wizard at age 14 and be saving from about that same age. Well narrated as well.

Propelled by a wish to reclaim the brilliant, chaotic, endlessly varied German civilization that the Nazis buried and ruined, and that so many Germans have worked to rebuild, Germania was recorded to enlighten us on serious topics, curiosities, and on the limits of language, the meaning of culture, and the pleasure of townscape.

Bravo!
Revisado: 10-28-18
An eclectic and somewhat eccentric look at German history. German history is not a easy topic to summarize in a book. It’s a history that is complicated and, let’s face it, somewhat dour. The author does review this history of this fascinating country will humor that only an Englishman could do. This is not a Lonely Planet guide to Germany but it is a great to understanding the nuances of Germany. A great piece of work.

A Classic
Revisado: 10-20-18
I read this book several years ago and now listened to this book on Audible. This book is truly a classic and really does help you understand the mind of the typical German during the Third Reich.
