I am not sure what book the other reviewers listened to but this book is quite ridiculous. Is Kit in high school? She seems so immature. Everything makes her tear up. She can’t cook, but insists on cooking without tasting. She doesn’t want intercourse, but she wants Preston to abstain. All she is willing to offer is kissing and some over the sweater action to a grown man who is very sexual.
Preston is ridiculous. He is a gambling addict with anger management issues. How many red flags can Kit ignore? In real life, he would leave Kit broke and battered. The narration is so so. Maybe it is the storyline, but Kit’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Annoying! The book is not as good as the first two. I am REALLY struggling to finish. I can’t believe I waited a year and wasted a credit on this.

Where to begin…Matt’s unrequited love for Penny is juvenile and beyond ridiculous. He just drones on and on chapter after chapter. Yet, he is so hung up on Brooklyn. Is Penny mentally challenged? She acts as if she is four years old. The slightest criticism is devastating. She is always on the verge of tears. She is so oblivious to Matt’s interest in her. Sickening! Matt’s character deserves a better storyline. There aren’t even any good sex scenes to save the plot. Ivy Smoak this book is smokeless (no 🔥)!
P.S. James you are a frigging billionaire. Buy a child proof lock!!!!!!!

Better but no Complicated Hearts

This book is better than part 1. The characters are more developed. You get some background information that illuminates why the characters feel and act as they do. There are definitely many laugh out loud moments. Unlike Complicated Hearts, this book is very PG. There is no reason this should be a 3 part series. If the author removed all of the redundancies from part 1, this series could have been completed in 2 books like Complicated Hearts which is far superior.

The storyline is a repeat of the events in Complicated Hearts providing very little new material without any new points of view from Preston or Kit. To add insult to injury,
there are not any sexual encounters to save this book.

This book was laugh out loud funny. The lengths that Keira went to to get her man... Well let’s just say hilarious! The story line was sexy mixed with a little kink. It was a nice distraction from Covid-19 and all of the political chaos!
