Historia
It would be easy to say Where the Shadows Dance is a memoir about a marriage—but marriage is simply the setting. Dana Killion dives deep into what we do for love, what we do because of love, how love can break us, how love can save us, and how the most important love is the love we feel for ourselves, because without it, no other kind can ever be as rich.

I listened to this book to get the perspective of what the other side of alcoholism looks like on the support side. It touched some on that and did a good job of showing how women are fixers as try to be the all for everyone. At the same time, if you are an average person, with average income working a lot, this book will frustrate you, or at least it did me. I couldn’t care less about the repeated condo with the beautiful Lake Michigan view and the house in Florida. I was looking for the reasons why she had no idea her husband was an alcoholic or cheating and how that was dealt with. While I do understand this book was to show what she did to focus on herself and it does that, but her ‘life of privilege’ makes her life expectations fairytale and unrealistic. I would not recommend this book.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Heartfelt
Revisado: 01-15-23
I am not a reader of many memoirs, so it is hard for me to write a review on this book as I don't have anything to really compare it to. I listened to this book because I wanted to know more about Harry's mental health journey. While most of us know his story, what I liked was the human side of Harry that we didn't know. I don't want to give anything away, so I will just say that I liked learning about his school, military, what he did to work on his mental health and how it came about. I don't think anyone will be shocked by how awful the paparazzi and the media are. I am already a person who tries hard not to follow, click on or watch anything that doesn't serve me in life; this book makes me want to try even harder to avoid doing those things.

Historia
Everything changes in a single moment for Dawn Edelstein. She’s on a plane when the flight attendant makes an announcement: Prepare for a crash landing. She braces herself as thoughts flash through her mind. The shocking thing is, the thoughts are not of her husband but of a man she last saw 15 years ago: Wyatt Armstrong. Dawn, miraculously, survives the crash, but so do all the doubts that have suddenly been raised.

Not bad
Revisado: 02-18-21
I liked this book, but it contained too much information on things that didn't really pertain to the book and I found myself having to start the book over several times because I thought I should try to follow those parts. The other thing is I wish I would have read this book instead of listening to it. It was hard to listen to with the back and forth. Overall, I liked it, it had a twist.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Good listen!
Revisado: 05-21-20
This is not normally the type of book I would choose to read. It was recommended by my son as something he thought I might like.
First, the narrator, Nick Podehl was perfect for this book and he had me so lost in the book that, at times, I needed to get my bearings about myself of where we were in the next chapter. Nick's voice is exactly Kvothe, or in my mind it forever will be.
The book is good, has a good story to it and kept me wanting to listen at any point of the day that I could. It took me away to their world....and has me already searching for book 2!
