Decent
Revisado: 04-27-25
Not as good as the first one but definitely a decent read. Not as much spice as previous books, but the love story was more real and believable.

Decent
Revisado: 04-26-25
Not as good as the first, but decent read. Dare I say, it’s even darker than the first. I found myself not necessarily loving the love story, but I was still drawn to the darkness of it.

Historia
Victor and Eli started out as college roommates—brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong.

Predictable and Boring
Revisado: 04-11-25
A pretty bland telling of a pretty standard hero/villain story. Prose is perfunctory and shallow. Story line does not explore the motivations of either characters with any depth of feeling. I was disappointed.

Historia
After a startling betrayal ends with both Sera and the dangerously seductive ruler of the Shadowlands she has fallen madly in love with being held captive by the false King of the Gods, there is only one thing that can free Nyktos and prevent the forces of the Shadowlands from invading Dalos and igniting a War of Primals. Convincing Kolis won’t be easy, though–not even with a lifetime of training.

Not My Favorite of the Series
Revisado: 03-26-25
Based on the story line, this book did cover a bit more boring material than previous books in this series, so overall I’m not too disappointed. But compared to the previous books which were *chefs kiss* this one is droll by comparison. But I am still reading the next book in the series. I do thoroughly enjoy this series as a whole.

So Sweet and So Spicy
Revisado: 03-16-25
I absolutely loved this book, and I would consider myself a picky reader. I absolutely loved the story line. Completely unique from the standard vampire or fairy fantasy novels out there. And it was jaw droppingly saucy. I felt myself begging for the couple to get together. I am immediately reading the next one. Absolutely recommend.

Historia
In June 1993, a group of young guerilla filmmakers spent four weeks making Horror Movie, a notorious, disturbing, art-house horror flick. The weird part? Only three of the film’s scenes were ever released to the public, but Horror Movie has nevertheless grown a rabid fanbase. Three decades later, Hollywood is pushing for a big budget reboot.

8 Hours of Suspense for 5 Minutes of Answers
Revisado: 03-10-25
I was disappointed by this book. It did not meet the hype. It started with an interesting idea but just kept building without any answers. In the last chapter or so, your questions are answered. However, it still left me feeling disillusioned. For that much build, there needed to be more focus on the impact. It felt like the author spent years writing the beginning of the book and five minutes writing the end.

Historia
Noah Fairchild has been losing his formerly polite Southern parents to far-right cable news for years, so when his mother leaves him a voicemail warning him that the “Great Reckoning” is here, he assumes it’s related to one of the many conspiracy theories she believes in. But when his own phone calls go unanswered, Noah makes the long drive from Brooklyn to Richmond, Virginia. There, he discovers his childhood home in shambles, a fridge full of spoiled food, and his parents locked in a terrifying trance-like state in front of the TV.

Shocking but the Ending Was Deep
Revisado: 03-08-25
I almost stopped listening to this book halfway through. So much of the book is posed in such a shocking and disturbing way, but when you get to the message at the end, you realize the purpose to all the shock and disgust. Even as a democrat, this book left me questioning my political motivations and showed me how dangerous political obsession can be. Truly recommend.

Historia
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Cute but but dull
Revisado: 02-28-25
Cute but dull. A normal telling of a normal love story. Just doesn’t catch your attention. Isn’t steamy, isn’t odd, just a normal couple in normal love. I guess I was expecting more.

Historia
Renowned academic Dr Sparling seeks help with his project on a remote Irish village. Historical researchers Ben and Chloe are thrilled to be chosen—until they arrive. The village is isolated and forgotten. There is no record of its history, its stories. There is no friendliness from the locals, only wary looks and whispers. The villagers lock down their homes at sundown. A nameless fear stalks the streets. Nobody will talk—nobody except one little girl. Her story strikes dread into the hearts of the newcomers. Three times you see him. Each night he comes closer.
