A bad performer can kill the story.

The storyline was intriguing. The reading performances from both male and female reader really kill the story. I truly don't know why they have to read in such strange cadences, which made the story sounds so boring and slow. It really takes a lot out of my patience to finish this book. eventhough the story is great, I will not be continue this serie. I wouldn't want the hear the same reader reading it, that's for sure.

the author ruined the ending because she wants it all.

I waited for so long for this final book of the Arcana Chronicle. everything was good and amazing story development until this final book. it seems like she still has so much story to develop, but her contract is up and she has to wrap everything up and finish... this book has a lot of pass forward. Skipping time to 700 years into the future, into Evy's next reincarnation. It would still has been a good ending if she stop at the part where Evy's reincarnate met with Mathew and she remembers everything, then he dies before the icons vanish from his arm.... that would have been the better ending because they have beaten the gods by stopping the game forever... But... the author decided that writing a good ending for her story is not her objective and wrote her ending according to what she desires instead....she kills her own masterpiece because she wants a throuple... she ruined her book serie by turning it from "the Hunger Game" to "50 shades of grey"...

I'm a romance novel reader. My interest is straight forward. I felt tricked after realizing this is a BL story line...it is just not what I'm interested in....the description doesn't mention anything about this and the category is so broad that there's no sub-catagory? why is that? I should have realized that the two characters mentioned in the description are both male names....but since there's no pro-noun used, I just thought they are just weird spelling of names... I am a long time member of Audible, even before it was bought by Amazon. I remember the categories were very detail and specific. They even had hot odometer to show how spicy the story is....now...it is so so hard to find books that match my interests...very sad

I'm still on book one, but I don't think I can continue. It supposed to be fantasy romance? But there's no world building...the reader is pretty much dropped into this world that's suppose to be still earth, but there's super natural creatures living among human? but we get no explanation why or how? not even a one line to explanation? ML is a Fae from Singapore? who is sneaking in to Russia? which is under thr control of the dragon shifter? FL is a simple human with no power, but some how she is garding the shifter queen? how? how? it was never really explained. ML were supposed to assinate shifter queen, but accidentally hurt FL instead. So since he realized that she is his mate, he "soul bond" himself with her so she can live, but now she has to have sex with him to complete the bond. That's pretty much the plot! The sex is super weird with him making her turned on with out touching her????.... then right at the first time he actually does the deed, he confesses that he loves her....she's practically his enemy, they didn't even share even one real conversation to know more about each other! OMG! I could have write a better a story, and I'm not even a writer! this is such a waste of my credit! how can I return this and get my credit back?

So repetitive. So selfish. So unnecessary

This book really ruin the entire serie. FL is so selfish and so self-centered. She kept on saying that all she wants is to keep the fort safe, and she knows how, yet she is not doing what she needs to do. She's only think of herself. it's like saying all the right thing for an audience but not really doing what you said you would do. It is super frustrating. I usually would finish a book regardless how boring it is, but I'll leave this book 3/4 finished. it is that frustrating!!!!

I still don't know why the human female falls so quick into trusting and loving her Alien lover.... the sex lacks variety. the story lacks development. what held this back from a one star is the readers performance.

It didn't really go anywhere.

The storyline has so much potential, but all the author circles around is the main character's inability to love herself. Through the entire book I keep on waiting for something epic to happen to make the love story to become believable, but there's nothing to show at the end of the story to even indicate that the couple have anything in common or share anything special that would allow them to share live together. I am quite disappointed.

the storylines are good, but the narration kills

I really like the setting and characters of this serie. unfortunately the reader really kills the success of this serie. I really try to look pass his over exaggerated pauses and inappropriate punctuation, but he really take the romantic out of the romance genre. Deeply disappointed.
