Saw that coming…
Revisado: 09-10-24
Good storyline overall, so far the story deals more with conflict resolution among this small group of survivors. The story is like a Harlequin Zombie story… but I’m looking forward to the next book.

Wild and unpredictable
Revisado: 04-20-24
Good story. I really almost returned this book because of the annoying accent of the narrator especially when narrating Kate, Ali, and Meredith. The vowel sounds were driving me “knotz” ….anyway. The Fathers character was so annoying I can’t remember his name even though I listen non stop. How is it that he was so dismissive the entire story? That part doesn’t seem real that and Meredith not losing her sh!t when he clearly keeps siding with Kate over her. Nevertheless the story held my attention well enough.

Good story great narration. Succinct story, great plot with lots of plot twists that held my attention. I loved the character arch, just when you thought he was done he was able to pull through and move on to the next level of life’s mayhems.

Historia
Roger Stringer grew up in rural Mississippi, hunting and eating everything from deer to rabbits. When he had two sons, Zac and Justin, he gave them guns and took them to the woods as well. Then one day when the boys were home alone, he got a call from Zac that Justin had been shot. What follows is an intimate and gripping memoir about the shooting’s aftermath. The story moves between the perspectives of Roger and Zac as they take us through their journey of betrayal, redemption, and ultimately confrontation with a company that had kept its corruption a secret for decades.

Tragic, powerful, redemptive
Revisado: 05-24-23
This story is a tragedy from beginning to almost end. Roger and Zach are two of the most articulate story tellers I’ve ever heard…telling their story. I stopped short of using the word beautiful in my heading but there is A beautiful element to the story. I don’t want to give anything away but this story will take you on a roller coaster ride and then gently roll to a pause.. because their tragedy has happened but they are doing what they can to prevent more tragedies like the one they lived. I’ll also say not surprised that the producers are Afleck and Damon…they know good stories.

Historia
On Zero Day of the first and last cyberwar in human history, the internet went dark, transport and power grids collapsed and cities began to starve, showing just how vulnerable the world could be to a targeted campaign of online sabotage. This final installment of this prescient epic of civilisation collapse finds the small ragtag band of survivors come together to face a new, but eerily familiar threat - the rise of a fascist militia among the ruins of a failing country.

Not like other apocalypse books
Revisado: 05-06-23
This series is fantastic! I enjoyed the narrator too. The characters came to life, the characters where portrayed as real people no super humans no zombies etc. it was a refreshing new take on the end of the word!

Historia
Based on actual events that happened between 2005 and 2009 in a remote Mennonite community where more than 100 girls and women were drugged unconscious and assaulted in the night by what they were told (by the men of the colony) were "ghosts" or "demons", Miriam Toews' bold and affecting novel Women Talking is an imagined response to these real events.

Killian, Tristian, and Rath. These three men are a part of my past - one that I'd rather never look in the eye again. In high school, they knew my secrets and I knew theirs. They had power and I had nothing. The night everything fell apart, my stepbrother allowed his two best friends to take their rage out on me while he watched. While they laughed.

This was hard to listen too
Revisado: 08-31-22
Full disclosure I’m gonna listen to all of the books. This has got to be one of the worse stories I’ve ever heard that’s fiction. Story is molested, raped humiliated, bullied, abused, and just treated like a sex slave. Who would think this is a book a young reader (woman) would want to hear? I’m more interested now on how this will all unfold to make me feel better about listening to bad porn with bad actors.
Now the female narrator was okay, but the guy made me immediately put the book down. The over exaggerated white yuppie 20 something California snob drawl was too much, it sounded like he was trying way too hard to have a dark angst, sexy and mean tone and it just didn’t work. This is my first ever written review and I’ve listened to hundreds of Audibles, some multiple times. If this is for a credit don’t waste it.
