Historia
This is DC Smith's third investigation with the Diver and Diver Associates agency. They have been asked by a member of Norfolk's aristocracy to look into the tragic death of her younger brother, Freddie, the late Lord Thorpe of the title. The inquest verdict was of misadventure, but it isn't long before Smith begins to suspect there has been a serious miscarriage of justice.

Love the latest DC Smith!
Revisado: 12-14-24
Gildart Jackson, narrator,is superb, as always. The story has very interesting twists and turns, with room for continuation in the next episode. And, as I have said previously, I could fall in love with DC Smith if he were a real person.

Historia
DCI Craig Gillard will be pushed to his limits. But will he break? It seems like a routine disappearance, a case of musician’s stage fright. As a senior detective, Craig Gillard isn’t sure why he’s even involved. Until it turns out the woman’s father is the German minister of justice, and the British home secretary is on the case, too. But nothing about the case is simple. How does a woman on a train simply vanish? What do you do when a trail runs cold and the pressure is on? Before long the perpetrator has another target: DCI Gillard himself.

Can't Decide Between The Plot and the Delivery
Revisado: 08-19-24
Loved the twists and turns of the intricate plot; the obviously in-depth research by the author for facts to use to build the plot around; and the fantastic delivery by the reader. Can't wait for the next installment!

Historia
Criminologist Martin Knight lives a gilded life and is a thorn in the side of the police. But then his wife, Liz, goes missing. There is no good explanation and no sign of Martin.... To make things worse, Liz is the ex-girlfriend of DCI Craig Gillard who is drawn into the investigation. Is it just a missing person or something worse? And what relevance do the events around the shocking Girl F case, so taken up by Knight, have to do with the present? The truth is darker than you could ever have imagined.

My Next Police Procedural Binge
Revisado: 07-28-24
Loved the story. Very exciting twists and turns. The narrator isn't one of my favorites. His American accent was bad and several of the characters sounded the same.

Fun Story
Revisado: 04-16-24
Being personally the survivor of several extremely dysfunctional relationships with men who were terrible life partners, I was completely able to empathize with the main character and to laugh at myself for all the bad choices I have made. All of the characters were believable, the story moved along nicely, and I couldn't wait to hear what would happen next.Kudos to Katherine Center.

Historia
Mark Randall lay dead in a field near Lowacre long before Smith had done what he had to do in Belfast. By the time he went back to work, the investigation was well underway. "It's not my case," he says more than once, and he really doesn't need it to be; he has enough to think about as it is. But going around the Norfolk countryside dotting the i's and crossing the t's, speaking to the local farmers and the Brothers of St. Francis from Abbeyfields, Smith begins to suspect that the investigation might be heading in entirely the wrong direction.

Love The Interesting Plots
Revisado: 02-03-24
I am currently binging on the DC. Smith series. I thoroughly enjoy the quirky, brilliant, funny, sardonic DC and am sorry he is only a character in a book, not a real person I could hope to meet someday. The plots are convoluted and the police procedures quite interesting. Lastly, I love Gildar Jackson's performance. His ability to speak in different accents and to give each character it's own voice makes listening a delight. It's on to the next title in the series for me!

Historia
When a worker goes missing from a North Sea gas platform, there seem to be just two possible explanations - it was a tragic accident or a suicide. It does not take Smith and his detectives long, however, to discover that James Bell led a double life back onshore in Kings Lake, a life complicated enough to make him at least one dangerous enemy. Before the case can be unraveled, Smith must get a new team working together.

I'VE GOUND A NEW AURHOR TO FOLLOW
Revisado: 01-27-24
I really enjoyed the intricate plot. I have always enjoyed mysteries, starting when I was 8 or 9 and was introduced to Nancy Drew. I enjoy Grainger's plot twists, characters, and humor. DC Smith has the same "wise ass" humor as I and he makes me laugh out loud. I also appreciate learning about police procedure; you can tell that he does research before he begins to write.

Another page-turner by Lisa Wingate
Revisado: 03-19-23
Lisa Wingate has written a story set in today's world , that steps back in time, based on her in-depth research of social mores in North Carolina during the Great Depressn, to create a story-within-a-story about a Southern family
and how the past affects the present in ways unknown to the characters. Between the descriptive prose, the plot twists, and the character development, The Sea Keeper's Daughters is a joy to read.

A real thriller!
Revisado: 03-06-23
Solace House is a real "page turner"! The story is skillfully woven with many unexpected twists and turns. As I've been reading the Jackman and Evans series, I've become quite fond of the characters and am eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series. The narrator, Richard Armitage, is especially skilled and a pleasure to listen to.
