This collection of Poirot’s early short stories cover a variety of detective stories, most of which are pretty good but none of which stand out as exceptional. Charles Armstrong does a good job with the voices, but his Poirot voice can grate a bit, especially in the few stories where Poirot does a lot of talking. I would love to heard David Suchet narrate these stories someday.

I went into this book expecting a sad story, told by an adult looking back on a terrible childhood. Instead, I found a book that immediately puts you in the mind of this young woman in high school, navigating friendships, relationships, studies — and her physically, emotionally and sexually abusive father. Following the story from her own belated realization that her family life wasn’t normal to her father’s trial and her life beyond, it’s a riveting tale that really shows the value of strong families, safe places and the love of friends to overcome even the most horrifying tragedies.

The best Jeeves and Wooster radio drama available

Many actors have managed to capture Jeeves' cool and professional brilliance (none better than Stephen Fry, IMO), but capturing the scatter-brained, joyously erratic Bertram Wooster is a much bigger challenge. In my opinion, nobody has managed it better than Richard Briers, as captured in this collection of radio dramas. Add to that a fantastic supporting cast, with wonderful Aunts Dahlia and Agatha, a hilarious Tuppy Glossop, Stilton Cheesewright, Roderick Spode and Madeline Bassett, and an absolutely astounding Gussie Fink-Nottle, and it's easy to see why this is the very best Jeeves and Wooster radio drama available. Strongly recommended!

One problem: as often happens with Audible and large audiobooks, the individual chapters are not labeled, making it impossible for you to skip to a particular story without looking up a list of plays.

A minor complaint: since this collection is arranged chronologically, it starts with the relatively weak "The Inimitable Jeeves" collection, which -- as a series of short stories -- doesn't really translate very well to radio. It makes up for it by immediately following it up with, "Right Ho, Jeeves", one of the very best Jeeves novels ever, and then you're off to the races.

I was initially a little disappointed that Sarah Gadon didn’t use the amazing accent she did on the CBS miniseries, but soon realized that she was an amazing narrator all the same. Enjoyed everything about this audiobook. More please!

Obviously, the best person to narrate this audiobook would have been Tommy Wiseau himself. Greg Sestero is the next best thing: the famous "O HAI MARK" from the movie, doing all the voices as he describes both his friendship with Wiseau and his recollections of the incredible making of "The Room". Loved it.

Really interesting stories about research into depression, peppered with stories from the author’s own life and beautifully read by the author himself. Love it!

Good voice acting, but difficult to visualize

The best thing about a graphic novel like "Locke and Key" are the wonderful visuals that go with it, so I was really curious how it could be adapted into a decidedly non-visual medium. They came really close -- the voice acting is great, with the evil characters in particularly being appropriately creepy without becoming spoofs of themselves. However, I think this adaptation really misses something from not having the images the dialogue goes with in front of you. It should have been a more thorough adaptation, taking into advantage audio's ability to create something creepy and wonderful. Still, it's great to see Audible trying something this ambitious, and I'll be listening to see what they come up with next!

How a writer and his debut novel came together

Very enjoyable description of Ernest Hemingway's journey from being an ambitious journalist with dreams of fiction writing in Canada through the living through, writing and publication of his debut novel, *The Sun Also Rises*. The writer and reader both do a great job of telling the story.

My one complaint is the amount of time spent on Hemingway's complicated romantic and family life, without enough information on the people attaching themselves to Hemingway -- especially his first and second wives. A more thorough portrayal of these characters or a snappier description of their role in his story would have been nice. Apart from this, five stars all around.

A classic Wodehouse story

Who was your favorite character and why?

I'm a fan of the Jeeves books mostly for Bertie Wooster, and he is wonderful as always here.

What about Michael Hordern and Richard Briers ’s performance did you like?

Although this is the one Wodehouse novel where I think Hugh Laurie (in the TV show) does a better "Bertie Wooster" than Richard Briers (in this audiobook), Briers remains my favourite Wooster overall and is very, very good here. The rest of the cast is very good here: the actresses playing Madeline Bassett and Aunt Dahlia nail their characters perfectly, and the entire cast does a brilliant job of bringing Wodehouse's novel to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's very long! But it's only a couple of hours, and is pretty fast-paced. If I hadn't heard this story before, I might have been tempted.
