Historia
Anna Winger can know people better than they know themselves with only a glance - at their handwriting. Hired out by companies wanting to land trustworthy employees and by the lovelorn hoping to find happiness, Anna likes to keep the real-life messes of other people at arm's length and on paper. But when she is called to use her expertise on a note left behind at a murder scene in the small town she and her son have recently moved to, the crime gets under Anna's skin and rips open her narrow life for all to see.

Best Rader Day Novel Yet!
Revisado: 04-19-17
I was hooked from the first page. Lori Rader Day has a way of keeping you engaged and not able to guess the ending. I guessed bits but didn't see most of it. That says a lot because I can almost always guess an ending.
The way Rader Day describes the protagonist's surroundings is so easy and fluid. I usually skip through the setting/scenery parts of a book because they are so monotonous. Not so with Ms. Rader Day. Her scene setting is so natural that I enjoy learning more.
Lori's books are relatively clean. Enough sex and language to keep it real and interesting but not so much that I couldn't read the book aloud to my mom. I feel comfortable letting my teenager read her books.
My biggest problem with this book is that it ended and I have to wait another year for Lori Rader Day's next novel.

Historia
Twenty-two and knowing no one, Tess leaves home to begin her adult life in New York City. Thus begins a year that is both enchanting and punishing in a low-level job at “the best restaurant in New York City”. Grueling hours and a steep culinary learning curve awaken her to the beauty of oysters, the finest champagnes, the appellations of Burgundy. At the same time, she opens herself to friendships - and love - set against the backdrop of dive bars and late nights.

Great for bedtime
Revisado: 03-26-17
This was so boring and meaningless. If you have a hard time sleeping, read Sweetbitter. It was overindulgent and without purpose, as if Ms. Danler threw a bunch of disjointed thoughts together that she couldn't be bothered to form into a solid story. Complete waste of time and money.

Repetitive But Good
Revisado: 03-22-17
If you could sum up The 4 Disciplines of Execution in three words, what would they be?
Informative. Energizing. Daunting.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The 4 Disciplines of Execution?
4DX made me think about how to implement this is environments other than an office, sales floor or factory as I deal with clients that have unique work environments.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I don't have the time to sit and read a book, much less a book for work purposes. Having this available on audio made it possible for me to "read." Audible makes the impossible possible.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The Apprentice Principles

Good Read
Revisado: 03-14-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this book to a friend that loved 50 Shades of Gray and wants to get more of the story from a different viewpoint.
What did you like best about this story?
It was nice to be in Christian's head to hear his insecurity. He's so insecure! I question whether a true dominant - at his level of dominant - would be that insecure. A couple of my friends are dominants and they are always in a good mood, in control of themselves and do not come across insecure about anyone or anything. It could be because Christian is only 27 years old and my friends are in their 40's or 50's.
Have you listened to any of Zachary Webber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I can't say for sure if I've listened to Zachary Webber's other performances but his voice seemed familiar. He did a great job on this one.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A movie has already been made. You can't remake it with Christian's thoughts. Not worth it.
Any additional comments?
Good book. Enjoyed hearing Christian's side of things.

Great Discussion
Revisado: 01-19-17
I must admit that I thought I was purchasing the actual book and was rather perturbed that it was a book discussion. Clearly, I was rushing and didn't read the details. My bad.
Coming from a position of disgust to thoroughly enjoying this book discussion is indicative of how great the presenters were. I am excited to purchase the actual book to read. And, I will have far more insight and understanding of what I'm listening to.
HIGHLY recommend this discussion either before or after you read the book, "Room."

Historia
In the quiet of twilight, on an early autumn day, 26-year-old Elisa Vandersteel is killed while riding her bicycle along the Charles River. It appears she was struck by lightning - except the weather is perfectly clear, with not a cloud in sight. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the Cambridge Forensic Center's director and chief, decides at the scene that this is no accidental act of God. Her investigation becomes complicated when she begins receiving a flurry of bizarre poems from an anonymous cyberbully who calls himself Tailend Charlie.

It Was Okay
Revisado: 01-17-17
What made the experience of listening to Chaos the most enjoyable?
The narrator was great. Her male voices were a bit odd at times but you get used to it.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Patricia Cornwell is my favorite author and I love her Scarpetta series so I'm dedicated. However, I would prefer to learn more about the characters and see a thicker plot than read about the fancy watches and clothes. I know that's Cornwell's signature but it doesn't add to the story and extra words are just extra words. I'm slowing growing away from Patricia Cornwell novels - and that is saying volumes considering how many years I have been a faithful reader. Starting to read out of obligation than excitement.
Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favorite?
Scarpetta.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No.
