Incredible!
Revisado: 03-10-17
This audiobook is incredible! A full cast theatre that really brings you into the life of Saint Francis of Assisi. I laughed, I cried and really got totally engrossed in the storytelling. It left me wanting to learn more about Saint Francis and wishing that the audiobook did not have to end. I think Radio Theatre really is the best term to describe this masterpiece because it is unlike any other audiobook I have listened too.

I have long undervalued Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets; however, Jim Dale really brings the story to life. He gives the characters great richness and energy.
The quality of these audio books is helping me discover just how fantastic the series is.

What an incredible book!
Revisado: 03-03-16
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. I found the story excellent, the characters compelling and authentic. I was actually inspired by Sal Casillas and will be getting out my big girl socks more often.
The narration was excellent and it brought the book to life. In addition, Mariana Zapata is a wonderful author having also previously enjoyed her novel Under Locke.
I would definitely recommend this book to all.

Historia
At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

A journey of self-discovery and truth
Revisado: 10-01-15
I came into this book really knowing nothing more that it had been recently made into a movie. It took me a long time to take the plunge and purchase the book and it was work every penny. In addition, I have never previously read a book on Oprah`s Book Club.
I found the story really riveting and vivid, and I truly felt like I was out on the trail with Cheryl.
I found her to be funny, honest, and detailed and I really enjoyed her first person writing style. I definitely felt like Cheryl and I were reliving these two months of her life together.I think that is the best part of a good memoir to gain a sense of familiarity with the author as well as to be with them as they recount the best and worst part of their lives.
I found the narrator did a lovely job in bringing the book to life and she brought a beautiful color and richness to my reading experience.

Stuck with it until the end#
Revisado: 08-25-15
I found that this story had a great beginning but the middle part of this story really lagged on and any emotional connection I had with the main characters had evaporated by the end. Though I must say I am pleased I listened to it to the end, I found that this is the weakest story of the book so far.
I am also going to need a graph for how everyone is related to each other soon. They are a fertile bunch of characters :)!

A Disappointment
Revisado: 07-15-15
I really tried to enjoy this book, but it took me over 7 hours to get into it and then the ending was just bland.
I have to admit though the narrator has a wonderful voice he sometimes lacked differentiation between the characters.
In addition, I found the story slightly boring.
I am overall really disappointed considering the great reviews written and the potential of the story.

With ribald humor, wit, and incredible insight, Alan seamlessly moves back and forth in time, integrating stories from his childhood in Scotland and his experiences today as the celebrated actor of film, television, and stage. At times suspenseful, at times deeply moving, but always incredibly brave and honest, Not My Father's Son is a powerful story of embracing the best aspects of the past and triumphantly pushing the darkness aside.

Wow! This book is amazing!
Revisado: 03-24-15
Where does Not My Father's Son: A Memoir rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is in my top 5 most interesting books I have listened to on audible! There is nothing like having a memoir read by the author certainly when one has such an amazing voice as Alan Cumming.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Not My Father's Son: A Memoir?
I found the way he spoke of his mother Mary Darling, his interactions with her and his compassion for all those around him so touching and moving. His compassion and openness is really what shines through this book. In addition, finding out the mystery of what happened to his grandfather and how he dealt with his own fathers revelation at the same time really helps us better understand who Alan is.
Have you listened to any of Alan Cumming’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narration of this book is exquisite and Alan brings his own story to life.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I found this book as whole quite moving. I laughed and cried and was overall glad that I had spent the time to read this memoir and go on this journey with Alan Cumming. It is quite interesting to see what defines a person after having lived through such difficult circumstances.

A book about those outside the mold!
Revisado: 01-02-15
Where does Glorious Montana Sky rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I really enjoyed listening to this book. It had characters from very diverse backgrounds and I felt that I was able to travel with the characters from different areas of the world all the way back to Sweetwater Springs! I found the author and narrator did a fantastic job in bringing to life the characters as well as the settings. In addition, I found the interaction between the characters to be really on point. I loved the blend of drama, humor and lots of wit! I also really enjoyed the love story between Delia and Joshua as well as their character development. So I would definitely include this in my favorites.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Glorious Montana Sky?
I loved how Mikah delt with his maternal Grandmother, getting his way by being charitable! I have to admit I was awfully pleased with the boy when he gave his new shoes to a poor boy.
What about Natalie Ross’s performance did you like?
The narrator in this book did an excellent job bringing to life the characters and the setting in this book with a lot of different cultures and places. Her narration was exemplary.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I could have sit and listened to this book for 10 hours straight I would have!
Any additional comments?
I am really sad that this is the end of the series. I would like to see what happens to the Sweetwater Springs community in the future!

A Heartfelt Western Story
Revisado: 11-28-14
What did you love best about Stormy Montana Sky?
I found this story to be very a mix of action, family and community dynamics and romance. I loved the interaction between Harriet and David and between Daniel and David. I really enjoy how Debra writes her children in her books as central characters that have a lot of depth.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Harriet! I have been discovering this feisty schoolmarm in the previous books. I found that Harriet is a strong, able woman but still vulnerable and in need of protection. I though the author did a great job of balancing the different facets of her personality.
What does Natalie Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I found her ready absolutely fantastic. I am able to recognize the different character voices extremely easily. In addition, she brought so much emotion to each character. She really made the sadness and despair in David's voice make the entire situation more real.
If you could take any character from Stormy Montana Sky out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Well since everyone is being married off, I would like a lunch with Samatha, Pamela and Elizabeth just to have news about their families and talk a little town gossip.
Any additional comments?
I found this story left me wanting more from the characters! I felt there could have been more chemistry between Ant and Harriet as well as more development of their personalities. I am looking forward to seeing how their family grows in future books!

The telegram Samantha Sawyer Rodriguez holds is her key to freedom: her late uncle, Ezra, has left her his ranch in Sweetwater Springs, Montana. At last, she and her young son will have a true home, and she can finally pursue her dreams of raising her prized miniature horses and building a sanctuary for wayward orphans. Prosperous rancher Wyatt Thompson has long coveted that river property. It’s bad enough that Ezra’s niece refuses to sell it, but worse by far that she’s stubborn, proud, and beautiful.

A Family Story with a hint of Romance!
Revisado: 11-24-14
What did you love best about Starry Montana Sky?
This is a wonderfully grand story about a family coming together. I loved the premise of Samantha being able to live out her dreams after being held captive for so long. Her naivete and kindheartedness towards the children just won you over. I found Wyatt to be a strong leading man faults and all. In addition, I just loved those fallabella horses they almost stole the show!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jack was my favorite character, I found that I loved how honest and protective he was as well as how he progressed through out the book to be more and more trusting of those around him. He also had such wonderful interactions with the different animals.
Have you listened to any of Natalie Ross’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I found Natalie Ross' performance excellent. I found her to be better than in the previous book of the series. She has this wonderful way of creating voices and accents that are so appropriate for the different characters. I think her voices helped me fall in love with Jack and Daniel even more than if I had just read the book. I just loved how she pronounced the names of the horses with so much love!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The most touching moment for me in the book was when Jack saved Sarah. Though I knew something terrible was going to happened I just found that he reaction and fierce protectiveness really made my heart go out to him.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book and love all the family dynamics and interactions. I found that important the values such trust, honesty and hard work were well presented and discussed. What a joy to listen to!
