I love Julia Louis-Dreyfus so I didn't hesitate to listen to this podcast. She's great at making each episode seem like a conversation instead of an interview. More than anything, it made me wish that everyone of a certain age would record something like this before it's too late. Regardless of whether you like someone, their experiences are important and so many people have died without leaving us with something like this to help us as we continue on. I'd kill to have something like this from my grandmother but she took so many secrets with her that we'll never know. Anyway, love the series and could listen all day!

Better than the original.

It feels like the author really took what made the original funny and went all out. Joan's part of the story had me laughing so hard I embarrassed myself in traffic. (for some reason, in my head, Joan looked like Terence Stamp) The narrator's delivery was 100% perfect for the material. I only wish there was more.

Audiobook made me laugh a little too much

This story is not for listeners who take literature, life or themselves too seriously. If you have ever been offended watching cable TV, you should skip it. It's not for you. While the story was funny, the narrator's delivery is probably what had me laughing myself into coughing fits. The story was the perfect length but I found myself starting the sequel immediately just to find out what happened next.

I enjoy this narrator quite a bit. The story is a fun, short, sexual fantasy for many men and women out there. (For example, an early 90's Brad Pitt). It's not at all realistic but that's the point, I think.

Imaginative story made better with excellent narration. The story is kinda like if Jeff Strand were to write Disney's Cars (or Stephen King if it were 4 hours longer :)

Super Cute Short Story

This short was so much fun! The narration was great and I loved the ending. Nothing adult or hardcore (not that there's anything wrong with that), just a short and sweet love story.

Heartbreaking story. Excellent Narration!

I had known about this case before but hadn't watched the documentary series until I listened to this book. The narrator has an excellent voice for this kind of genre and kept me interested all the way through. While I don't know that we will ever truly know what happened to Teresa Halbach in 2005, I pray her family isn't being put through all of this based on a vendetta (which is what this would be if Avery is truly innocent). I do know, however, that Zellner is a genius and she was the reason I picked up this audiobook in the first place.

Great short story, EXCELLENT narration.

I thought this was great! I forgot how much I loved short stories since I've been digesting multi-novel volumes here on audible lol I must say that I don't think it would have been half as good without the narrator though. He was fantastic!

I picked up the ebook of the first book and was hooked so I had to buy this 3 pack (I wish other authors offered deals like this!) Great stories, great characters, and I love these two main characters so, of course, I will be picking up the next series and anything else with Locke and Key in it!

This story... wow

Reading some of the other reviews about this short story was kind of shocked at first. It's been weeks since I first heard 'There Are Flowers in Ohio' and I am still thinking about it. I've never been so affected by a story filled with so many characters I absolutely despise. I don't know if I will ever understand why we, as humans, treat each other the way that we do? I needed to hear this story. I loved this story. It's not for everyone.. no story is. It was definitely for me.
