Illogical
Revisado: 10-27-20
I have about 1 hour left in the book and I just had to stop it. Though the book is well organized and descriptive, the main character is just too naive.. too the point to where it’s stupid to be honest.
So someone slices the throat of someone you love right in front of your face with your blades and 1 month later you’re like, “but man he’s so good looking. I want to rub myself all over his wings. It’s a shame he’s an ass sometimes..” what ?!? It actually says, “what a shame” are you kidding me? The #1 reason this stands out to me is because the main character is betrayed significantly over theses deaths. But she’s not willing to forgive that person, but is more forgiving/forgetting with the killer. Just illogical and extremely innocent type of writing on a more mature topic. Doesn’t mesh well. And in the end, all of the killing and kidnapping seems for no reason.
Narration was done poorly. There were times it was so quiet then really loud all of the sudden.

Blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah
Revisado: 06-29-20
The first 3 books had me hooked and were really really good! This one was a push. 100 percent honest-too much talking/lecturing/debating/arguing.
When us as the reader already can easily put together the “major reveal” back in book 2, it takes 3/4 of book 4 to get to the point for the main character to wake up and see it. Frustrating!
There is relatively little action in this book as well. Imagine the hero vs. the villain just sitting around for over an hour (seriously 1 hour for each of those chapters on audible) arguing about black and white moral issues until they inevitably agree on the gray area. And I mean in the height of chaos ! They pause to talk.
I’m all for how our main character absolutely hates violence and all but he honestly gets annoying with his hugs and kisses BS with very evil people. And that’s what the whole book is, him lecturing his enemies about morals forever and ever, hitting the same points over and over. “But don’t you see!!” Yes we see it... skip forward 20 minutes and they are still debating on the same topic with the same points. Ok we get it! Just takes too long to get to the obvious end.

Historia
As a nymph living in exile among humans, Clio has picked up all sorts of unique survival skills. But pilfering magic from the Underworld's deadliest spell weavers? Not so much. Unfortunately, that's exactly what she has to do to earn a ticket back home. Conning her way into the Underworld may have gone pretty well, but now she's got a new problem. His name is Lyre, and he's a sinfully alluring incubus, a skilled spell weaver, and the only thing standing between her and stealing some damn magic.

Abstinence incubus
Revisado: 05-02-19
It’s was kind of like a innocent version of every demon story you know. Not that it’s a bad story, just a little too YA on a more mature topic. The lead female is so young and naive. Then the male incubus lead is also pretty innocent. But the author does start off the story saying they arnt demons but damons. So you have to accept that this is just an all together new story and don’t compare it to anything else.

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

Soooo glad i downloaded this one. I saw it through Facebook actually. Very unique take on being the only human with an average job around in a paranormal world. Good humor throughout the book - series! I am highly anticipating the rest of the series to come out. If you like guild stories, anime or modern fantasy, you will love this series! Quick story but well written in a way that its just right.

Selfish btch
Revisado: 04-26-19
Read my review!!!! What a cnt! If this main character is based off a true story, I hope she never has children. What a whore. I’ve literally never hated a lead character so much! She is so ruthless and self centered and sits back while 2 different men bend over backwards for her. Cheats on her husband because she’s lonely after pushing him away. Idk what the point of this story was except to piss me off. Also, this is a very pro-choice book, so heads up! She frequently says “I don’t feel guilt, I never do” and she means it. About keeping it a secret from her spouse years ago, about doing it, or about cheating. Even in the end, she still gets what she wants! This is a type of character I hope to never be, never be friends with and never know! I actually got angry. Skipped a lot of the book bcuz I wanted to find out if she gets what she has coming! But she doesn’t! Her very perfect husband actually blames himself in the end and apologizes... I feel sad for him. He did nothing wrong the whole time. She is jealous he spends time at a homeless shelter!!!
Plus side - good narrator. That’s it though.

Being part of the Midwest Pack isn't easy - especially now. My life has never been simple - and it only keeps getting more complicated. The Alphas, Ethan, and several key players in the otherworld go missing, thrusting me into the position of Elite Alpha and tasking me with finding them. The list of suspects grows as I realize that mating with Ethan has caused allies to become enemies. Will I locate the missing in time or will I be the last Alpha standing?

Lazy narrator but worse lead female character
Revisado: 03-08-19
Warning: This review does not contain ACTUAL spoilers, because there is no substance to the story to spoil in the first place.
This lead character is so whiny and pitiful and honestly just stupid. It’s like “go outside the property and you could die!” Lead character 4 days in after losing her mother and almost dying, “but I miss the city life and want good coffee! Poor me!” Then forces people to take her on an “outing” and is shocked they get attacked. And yet she still tries to run off a few more times, each time again almost dying! Her reasons to run are because she is BORED and doesn’t like their rules. She is supposed to be an adult here..
I think it could have a good story line with substance, but that is ruined with all characters being shallow like a reality TV show over-actor. Imagine some of the best fantasy stories you can think of: LOTR for example, except Frodo is worried about his damn coffee and which brother he wants to kiss more, oh yeah and after chapters and chapters covering teen romance drama, then he will do something interesting that actually pertains to the storyline. The humor in this story is the equivalent of Disney channel sitcoms as well. Tbh, I’m writing this review while listening to the last hour of the book... I’m forcing myself to finish but dear god make it stop.
Pros: Good book to fall asleep too. Narrator is monotone and slow paced. And if you wake up and can’t remember where you left off, it’s ok I’ll catch you up now: she still doesn’t understand what she is, Ethan and her still have drama and “hate” each other just like any Degrassi couple before they have sex in a high school bathroom, and the pack still treats her like an outsider. Boom, you missed nothing!

Secrets have consequences - and so do truths. I’ve been outed as a Legacy and there’s nothing I can do but deal with the aftermath. I thought I could handle it - I was wrong. The city is in chaos, and I have more enemies than allies. Some that I once called allies have quickly become my betrayers. Just when I didn’t think things could get any worse, Conner resurfaces and he’s ready to make everyone pay. Especially me. He’s the least of my worries: A supernatural assassin has been brought in to kill all the Legacy - and he’s good at his job.

Male lead character is terrible
Revisado: 01-30-19
For once I actually really enjoy the female lead character. She’s not “pretend” strong like most other female leads in other fantacy series. But the male lead, yuck! He really does not choose her over others. She is definitely 2nd or last even when he makes decisions. And at the end of the book he kind of just expects her to make a big sacrifice for his kind, even though he used to hunt down and kill hers. With barely a mouthed “thank you” please. This guy is all about himself, luckily our lead lady don’t need him to get by anyways. She always saves herself. He can’t step up even once. He got so furious when his kind was hunted down, but for her “eh, wanna fuck?” Please, I’m relunctant to start the next book

Rowan Greenwood has everything she's supposed to want from life - a good family, a bright future, and a proposal from a handsome and wealthy magic hunter. She knows she should be content with what she has. If only she could banish the idea that there's more to life than marriage and children, or let go of the fascination with magic that she's been forced to suppress since childhood.

Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

Willa has never been a particularly useful dweller: she isn’t very good at chores, she isn’t very good at worshiping, she isn’t very good at not having opinions, and she isn’t very good with rules - but none of that matters anymore. The rules are changing. The dwellers are trying to make their own way in the world, and Willa can’t seem to help getting tangled up in their plans. Luckily, she has the Abcurse brothers to help her out - until she doesn’t, and suddenly she’s alone again in a world on the brink of chaos.

Revisado: 02-08-18
Man I love this series. I already owned the digital copy of the book and counted down the days for the audible. I made sure to buy it too just to support the writers! They did such a good job. Plus I have never enjoyed a narrator more than Vanessa Moyen now! This could easily be an awkward story line , but it is well written and well performed that you can really put yourself in it! Good job can’t wait for the next one!!!!
