Historia
Skelm Island, Maine, has always been known for two things: lobsters and its broken lighthouse. But when corpses start showing up in the water, the isolated town becomes the face of a cryptic investigation. At the heart of which stands Lincoln Porter, a grumpy ex-SEAL whose lobstering business seems to attract more dead bodies than fish. When homicide expert Detective Sloane is called in to assist with the case, she begins digging up skeletons; ones that Lincoln would rather stay buried.

Great narration, good story.
Revisado: 05-22-24
I enjoyed the narrators. I often find myself only listening to a portion of an audiobook and swapping between the book format and audio. I ended up listening to the entire book just because I felt like they really did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. The writing style was great as well.

Historia
Jake Hayes is missing. This much is certain. At first, his wife, Nina, thinks he is blowing off steam at a friend’s house after their heated fight the night before. But then a day goes by. Two days. Five. And Jake is still nowhere to be found. Lily Scott, Nina’s friend and coworker, thinks she may have been the last to see Jake before he went missing. After Lily confesses everything to her husband, Christian, the two decide that nobody can find out what happened leading up to Jake’s disappearance, especially not Nina.

Well it was fine
Revisado: 03-01-23
The story itself was fine. The narrators were great. I figured it out after adjusting my theory one time, but I don't think the entire thing is overly predictable while not being implausible. I wasn't a huge fan of any of the characters though.

Historia
In this pulse-pounding short thriller for fans of Big Little Lies and The Last Mrs. Parrish, Maggie Cabot refuses to sit by idly as police re-open an investigation into the mysterious death of a woman her husband used to know. After two decades in a near-perfect marriage, Maggie and James Cabot are enjoying their first year as empty-nesters in their charming Florida suburb, until two detectives arrive at their front door and change their lives forever.

It was okay
Revisado: 10-10-20
It captivated me enough to basically listen to it at one time. It wasn't exactly a big thriller though.
Spoilers- The ending wasn't surprising, but also not so boring. My issue is with how it was handled. The focus was never on the woman murdered but on the way the main character was feeling, and that's how it ended with the victim being pushed aside.
The narrator did a nice job.

It takes a few chapters.
Revisado: 01-26-20
It took me a few chapters to really get into it, but once I got into it I couldn't stop listening. I loved the narrator, she did a great job really pulling you into the emotions of the book.
