Historia
For two thousand years, cadavers have been involved in science's boldest strides and weirdest undertakings. They've tested France's first guillotines, ridden the NASA Space Shuttle, been crucified in a Parisian laboratory to test the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, and helped solve the mystery of TWA Flight 800. For every new surgical procedure, from heart transplants to gender reassignment surgery, cadavers have been there alongside surgeons, making history in their quiet way.

I have been thinking about being composted when it’s my turn. The type of composting choices in this book seem a little outdated. There is new science and there are even a few states who allow human composting now. Colorado is one of them. However, I liked the history, and I found all the information interesting, even fascinating, and the performance very well done and so entertaining. My husband couldn’t understand why I was laughing so much while reading about dead bodies!

Historia
We’ve all heard the phrase “it’s not brain surgery.” But what exactly is brain surgery? It’s a profession that is barely a hundred years old and profoundly connects two human beings, but few know how it works, or its history. In this warm, rigorous, and deeply insightful book, Dr. Theodore H. Schwartz explores what it’s like to hold the scalpel, wield the drill, extract a tumor, fix a bullet hole, and remove a blood clot—when every second can mean life or death.

Historia
Written with bracing wit and intelligence, Rachel Maddow's Drift argues that we've drifted away from America's original ideals and become a nation weirdly at peace with perpetual war, with all the financial and human costs that entails. To understand how we've arrived at such a dangerous place, Maddow takes us from the Vietnam War to today's war in Afghanistan.

In my 20s I was busy building my life and career. I followed the news and believed the sound bites. The same thing is happening today to millions. I believe we need the mainstream news outlets to begin to talk about the hard facts and to stop walking the middle of the road when it concerns politics and policy, instead of saving ratings.; we teach real history in the schools; we continue to support news from cable and other less constrained sources.

The detail given about the character of the historical personalities and the circumstances and influences that precipitated the events of each of the crusades was terrific. I feel like I finally have a realistic idea why and how the events of the crusades took place.
I think the narration was wonderful. I didn't even notice how long the audio book was.

Excellent book! Hard to listen to at times because it was so "raw." I felt the anger, sadness, and fear. This is the first book I've read having to do with the Vietnam War. I believed 40 years after the loss of friends and a cousin I would be able to take it in stride. It was tough, but, I'm glad I read it.
