Historia
What if a respected surgeon could destroy your life with just one diagnosis? In early twentieth century Green Bay, Wisconsin, this terrifying reality was all too true for two women. Mary, an illiterate maid, and Mollie, a college-educated socialite, fell victim to the physical violence and mental abuse of celebrated surgeon Dr. John R. Minahan. To silence them, he claimed they had the shameful and dreaded disease of syphilis.

so well written and narrated! Makes one wish for more. A tribute to women's rights. Choice is a powerful gift. The persistence of the protagonists to be heard in spite of each obstacle they face is worthy of admiration and reflection.

Riveting all the way to the end
Revisado: 03-14-22
I enjoyed the pace and endeavors of Juneberry Lipstick. The narrator did a great job with a calmed, multipurposed voice, easy to follow. Having read The Eyes of Perfection before, I was once again pleased with the author's character and charm -filled storytelling. I would highly recommend this one.

It’s harder today than ever before for independent filmmakers to make money with their films. From predatory film distributors ripping them off to huckster film aggregators who prey upon them, the odds are stacked against the indie filmmaker. The old distribution model for making money with your film is broken, and there needs to be a change.

Speedy narration is an issue. Good content though
Revisado: 02-26-20
Performance: I honestly think the audiobook would have been much better overall if it had been narrated at a slower pace, and if the audio tracks had been edited with more pauses between chapters and full stops. Maybe a different narrator? The bombardment of information from the get-go requires a much slower narration pace. Perhaps the written version is worth keeping to go back to. The speedy audio version however becomes a bit ineffective and impacts the message.
Story: Good information on resourcefulness and key items to be aware of. This is good for actors, directors, video content creators, etc.
Audiobook Structure: I enjoyed the fact that the chapter titles on the Audible version are spelled out as you can skip through key chapters if in need to relisten in the future. Many how-to audiobooks don't have spelled out chapters, and that's annoying. Akso, although a minor nuisance, understanding that the author likes to be on the cover, I would have recommended a more graphically designed cover art, with a bit more appeal.
Conclusion: Overall a fine story, with good tips, but the audio pace did no work for me. Perhaps a different narrator could have helped? An interruption in your listening by unexpected circumstances might force you to relisten to an entire given chapter.
This is an unbiased review after I voluntarily purchased and listened to the audiobook.

A great way to improve parenting skills
Revisado: 01-20-20
I recently listened to another audiobook from the same author and I wanted to give this one a try. Rachel outlines well the issues of parenting and addresses practical solutions, which is a big reason why I gave her another try. It's amazing how interacting with kids is almost like acting, and some parents act irresponsible and do not communicate well or disregard active listing. Listen more, talk less = huge key to become an efficient parent. A great manual I will keep revisiting, very well narrated, with great cadence and a soothing voice.

Great parenting tips. Nice and slow narration
Revisado: 01-20-20
A practical guide to limit screen time and make your children flourish with basic life skills that will turn into rewards over time. I am a father of 4 and I wanted to focus on praise and when to do it to strengthen my day-to-day rapport with them and be a better dad. I took away a thing or two. What I really enjoyed as well was the crystal-clear narration; a perfect narrator pick here.

Very insightful life views. Awesome narration too
Revisado: 01-20-20
After a while listening to fiction novels, I have decided to try method audiobooks and, man, is this audiobook refreshing! The author goes over essential life tips, yet some of them are taken for granted by people, and this publication readdresses them with practical examples: gain knowledge, it's who you know, the more you know, surround yourself people who help you grow. I actually love it there are some f-bombs mixed up here and there. In this case, it adds a genuine touch of realism; as does the very wise narrator pick. The narrator has that 20s voice that incorporates authenticy to each statement and fully inspires. I took a thing or two out of this one. Highly recommendable.

The Grand Hotel is a horror novel by esteemed best-selling author Scott Kenemore ( Zombie, Ohio) that takes the reader on a thrilling ride through an interconnected series of stories narrated by the desk clerk and the residents of the hotel itself. And while it is not known whether or not the desk clerk is actually the devil incarnate, it is strange that so many visitors who come for a tour of the hotel have a way of never leaving.

Mighty end! So well narrated!
Revisado: 10-09-19
What stories and secrets can one expect to encounter at a venue such as the Grand Hotel? Every minute of the 12+ hrs of this production is majestically narrated. Such a versatile voice, a great array of accents, both with splendid male and female pitches, great cadence command.
The story is very well crafted, and this is the type of audiobook that, even if you step away from it for 2 minutes and return, you don't feel like you missed any vital information. Well woven story of stories. Even minutes after the very end of the book, I am still going back and rethinking and admiring the story. It all makes sense in the end.. or does it really?

Marvelous narration by Joe Mantegna. I cannot understand why this great story is not regarded higher than The Godfather. Whimsical Puzo storytelling, greatly paced by Joe. A gem.

A priceless toolbox
Revisado: 03-20-19
This guide is perfect for me in that I have yet to incorporate a lot of the tricks it shows. Yet I feel any well seasoned actor should refer back to it to refresh and improve. I have learned stuff my now former acting coach never thought of mentioning. I am looking forward to going back to this often.
The narrator has impeccable diction, great tone and adequate pace.
Money well spent and it will blow you away how this guide will bury myths such as less is more. I loved the practical examples and minute marks. This is more targeted to motion picture acting vs theater/stage acting. I would not recommend this for stage actors.

Male voice performance stirred me away
Revisado: 01-20-19
I have only listened to 1 hour of this one. I enjoyed the logistics behind the sniper world, but somehow my interest began fading as I listened to the narrator perform the main character's male voice. Funny how other male voice attempts were okay. The main character's sounds like a bad impersonation, I'm afraid.
Male voices can still be credible in a female tone (i.e. Misery by S. King). Narrator reads a bit too fast as well, but well enunciated.
