Historia
Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

amazing book!
Revisado: 06-13-23
Wow I am blown away by the beauty of this book. I listened within 3 days because I just could not put it down and then when Lily's secret comes out... just amazing. Beautiful, transformative, eye opening.
The only negative I have is that it was hard to keep track of Lily's story and her character arc... her emotional arc didn't make sense to me but perhaps I need to listen again. Overall, this is a must read book!

I didn’t know bridesmaid was code for babysitter for the bride’s brother, but if that’s what my best friend needs of me for her dream wedding to go off without a hitch, that’s what I’ll do. Even if Theo Monroe has been a pain in my rear since third grade. Even if he should be responsible enough to not wreak havoc at his sister’s destination wedding.

this made me so happy!
Revisado: 04-24-23
Normally uptight, rule followers with way too high expectations drive me crazy in books. Not this Heroine! She was sweet, funny, quirky and listened. It was a joy listening to her realize everything she thought she knew was wrong and that she could live for fun! The hero is amazing and the best brother in the world. The only thing: no one, not a single character in the book treated Emma right. To find out every one you love is keeping secrets from you is a horrible feeling.
My husband sneezes loudly. The struggle is real! You'll get it after the book

What's the actual last thing you'd ever want your executive assistant to see you doing the morning after you had hot, drunk, angry sex with her in a terrible hotel room? Dancing around your terrible hotel room to "Come and Get Your Love" like Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy - naked? Yeah. Me too. And yet, here we are.

Laugh out loud funny, witty banter, and a very small amount of angst. The narrators were perfection and brought every character to life. Just a nice, warm and cozy book!

Ryot Bisley is my husband. Yes, the former third baseman for the Chicago Rebels and absolute heartthrob of the Windy City. That Ryot Bisley. The first time I ran into him, he was grumpy, a horrific host, and left me on his sofa with nothing but a nylon baseball flag to use as a blanket.

depressing, very very depressing
Revisado: 12-16-22
I enjoyed this book for the writing but, it was hard to listen to. I ended up skipping 3 almost 4 hours of the book. The Heroine was awful. Your husband loses himself in work for a few months so you file for divorce??? Really???? When he asked for communication she refused until he started paying attention to her. That's just not the way marriage works.
The steak, tv remote and vinyl scenes seemed like they were supposed to be comical but they weren't, they were caustic and painful. I felt actual pain listening to these two fight the way they did.
I won't ruin the ending... but she is just a sad human being. This book didn't even bring me back up again with the happy ending, it was all just so sad. Especially the fact that her friend basically had to force her to make amends. I am however excited for the brothers book!

Historia
I've got everything it takes to make it in Tinseltown: confidence, charisma, and a killer chin. Now all I need is a chance. But Los Angeles is full of hot young hunks, and talent might not be enough to separate me from the cookie-cutter crowd. So I devise a wild scheme to get noticed. Pretend I’m someone I'm not—good-bye Will O’Connell of Cincinnati and hello Liam O’Connell of Dublin. "Liam" and his talent with accents is enough to get my foot in the door, but I never anticipated meeting the woman who has me more worried about keeping my foot out of my mouth.

The passion oozes out of this audiobook
Revisado: 10-01-22
I believe this is Joe Arden's first book by himself. At times I could physically feel his optimism, excitement and passion. The book immerses the listener into the Hollywood, actor and crew world. You get to experience Wills adventure into "showbiz". At times it was a little corny but it works with the character. I loved Wills character arc. I love that it was low angst and drama. This was a fun read that was laugh out loud funny. The only thing I disliked was how she ghosted him then went way too long without any contact. That isn't healthy. Overall, this is a fun book that will make you smile, laugh and every so often want to yell "you're being a dumb ass, get it together!"

Historia
After I’m arrested for throwing a raucous party, my hockey team says I have an image problem. And I need to fix it, stat. Charity work? Check. Haircut? Sure. But I draw the line at hiring my neighbor to style me. In the first place “style” shouldn’t be a verb. And I’m tired of people who’d judge me on appearances. Vera and I don’t see eye to eye on anything. She wants me to try on clothes, while I just want to remove hers. She's distractingly pretty, with soulful eyes and a sinful mouth that likes to argue with me.

Fun book
Revisado: 07-15-22
This was a fun read. I normally don't like hate to love books because I find them caustic and unhealthy. This was not that, not even close. It was more two people stuck in their heads unable to consider the others perspective. That is until their forced to get to know each other and realize their pre-conceived notions were untrue. Both are quick to realize their wrong and own up to it.
This was a fun book! I loved the message of not listening to your inner "b**ch. I also love how she uses her knowledge of clothes to help him through his problem.

I escaped my life. Leaving everything behind wasn’t easy, but I did it. I turned the page and flew over the ocean. This is my new beginning. My new chapter. My new book. Or so I hoped before I met my new boss. Daniel Sterling. Rich as sin, illegally attractive, and the face of every magazine cover. Oh, and the reason why I escaped in the first place. I made his high school life hell. He won’t stop until he gives me a taste of my own medicine.

frustrating angry and heartbreaking
Revisado: 07-05-22
I usually love it when rivals realize the false misconception they have is based on something they interpreted all wrong. This book i couldn't enjoy it. It was so unbelievably horrible, what happened in the aftermath was so cruel and vial, I just couldn't believe their love. They were terrible human beings, both of them. I just can't wrap my brain around it. She was young and unable to cope with feelings, she was a vile girl who treated everyone cruelly and in need of serious therapy. He became a cruel, abusive man. Yes, I would categorize him as abusive and in need of serious therapy.
So much of the book was them being mean and guarded, the way a switch seemed to turn and both became kind and loving wasn't believable nor was it a depiction of a healthy change. My husband has serious childhood trauma that he's still dealing with as a 40 year old. It takes serious communication, compassion, time and energy on both in the relationship. I felt like I needed a drink and serious life reflection after reading this.

finally a family like mine!
Revisado: 06-20-22
first of all, the story line and characters are refreshing. I enjoyed reading about 2 people who thought they were empty nesters only to start brand new all over again. This was a sweet, fun book!
I loved this book because it reminds me of my family. Dad was 50 and Mom was 35 when I was born. I had a sister who was 30 and by the time I came around, there were already 3 grandkids. I ended up with a younger brother a couple years later and we grew up more as another cousin than aunt/uncle. It was a different family dynamic and I got really good at explaining it. it's nice to see a family that embraces "different" to be happy and thriving!

cute and funny book
Revisado: 05-16-22
cute book. funny at times. definitely for moms and moms to be or someone who wants to be a mom. wish there were more chapters featuring the boyfriend, he was sweet and funny.
side note: from experience! get the epidural as soon as possible. I asked for an epidural but they said it was too soon, that I still had hours yet. well I finally got the epidural but it never took, the baby came less than an hour afterwards and I felt everything! thankfully it went fast but it was very very painful and I wish I insisted on getting it sooner.

Historia
Miller "Buck" Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed-up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he's ready for a girlfriend. A real, nonbunny girlfriend to take on dates and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation. Miller thinks he's found that woman in his teammate's sister.

cute, adorable, funny
Revisado: 05-06-22
If you've ever wondered what it feels like to be learning disabled, this is the book! As someone who has an LD, I can safely say this is the most accurate depiction I've ever read. All the way down to how frustrated people got with him, its all so accurate. Thank you to the author for authentically depicting what it feels like and the daily challenges! It might seem over the top or exaggerated in the book but it really isn't. An LD doesn't just affect learning, it affects every aspect of life. Our brains interpret the world differently than "normal" people, it causes a lot of frustration to the people around us.
I was very disappointed with Joe's performance in this. Hes usually much more animated. This performance he was almost monoton and there was only a slight voice change for Sunny. He actually put me to sleep a couple times!
The book was slow moving in the beginning. I almost stopped listening but powered through. I'm glad I did because it picked up about a quarter of the way through. Sunny was juvenile and immature in the beginning. I had to remind myself shes only 20! Miller prods her to grow up, he doesn't take her shit and even though in the beginning he made mistakes, he makes her own up and grow up. He owns up to his mistakes too and he learns how to be an adult with Sunny. Overall great book but not Joe Arden's best work.
