Historia
Living with four other guys, it's bound to happen. Every guy's been caught taking care of business at least once, right? It shouldn't be a big deal. But I don't know Eric as well as my other roommates, and things are a little awkward now. He's a loner. A mystery. Quietly confident. Smart. Sexy as hell. I've been happily subsisting on the typical frat guy diet of booze and sorority girls. But the way Eric looked at me that night? There was something there. Something that's got me curious. Something that's stirring up feelings I thought I'd left behind for good.

Kyran Harbor is everything I'm not. Rich. Popular. A superstar football player who's awfully broody for someone who has it all. Basically, he's a preppy jock who hates me. Oh, and he's also my stepbrother. That's right. We're stuck together, sharing a school, a house, a bathroom. Honestly I wouldn't care if he wasn't such an uptight control freak who messes with me just because we're different. I had every intention of avoiding him when we got to college. Until abrupt misfortune forces us both into a compromising position.

Super Sexy and With Substance
Revisado: 11-28-23
This was the sexiest material I’ve ever engaged with. It is SOOO graphic, which I loved. The narrators aren’t just reading words on a page, they are practically acting them out and there are a LOT of sex scenes. I definitely bookmarked a few and listened to them more than once. The book isn’t just smut, though. There’s a story and solid character development that give it depth. In addition to sexuality and identity, other topics that are touched on are religion and childhood trauma. She’s a talented writer who is able to describe visuals, emotions, and sensations in beautiful detail. I genuinely enjoyed the book. Tip: Make sure to listen with earbuds or you will definitely scandalize anyone within earshot!

Historia
Luc O'Donnell is tangentially - and reluctantly - famous. His rock-star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next 20 years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything. To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. He’s perfect boyfriend material.

Brilliant!
Revisado: 11-19-23
This book was hilarious. I laughed out loud multiple times. It’s also very sweet and charming. Compared to other MM romance novels it’s not on the explicit end of the spectrum which was a little bit of a bummer for me but it’s still super romantic. The characters are so rich and fleshed out. I fell in love with both Luc and Oliver. The narrator was also fantastic and brought the characters to life. I’m going to download the sequel now!

Historia
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

I’m in love and devastated to be done
Revisado: 11-10-23
This book… WOW. I am a serious literature type of person and steered away from this for a while because it sounded a bit too cutesy. But on a plane ride I saw part of the movie and thought it was so charming and the actors so stupidly gorgeous that I wanted more so I downloaded the book. I thought it would be a fun listen, and it is, but it’s more than that. It’s complicated and painful at times and there is real depth to the characters and their psychological development and inner worlds. It’s also *incredibly* sexy! Like, really, really hot.
I’m going to be depressed for a week because I’ll be missing being immersed in this delicious, funny, life-affirming book. Or I may listen to it one more time. At least. :)

This is my new favorite audiobook
Revisado: 05-30-23
Wow. What an incredible novel! The writing is beautiful, the characters rich and complex, and the storyline captivating. The narrator did a fantastic job and his ability to do accents from England, India, Ethiopia, and NYC was impressive. I just loved this book and felt completely immersed in the locations where it takes place. It’s one of those books that’s hard to say goodbye to when you’re done.

Chava is a golem, a woman made of clay, who can hear the thoughts and longings of those around her and feels compelled by her nature to help them. Ahmad is a jinni, a restless creature of fire, once free to roam the desert but now imprisoned in the shape of a man. Fearing they’ll be exposed as monsters, these magical beings hide their true selves and try to pass as human - just two more immigrants in the bustling world of 1900s Manhattan. Brought together under calamitous circumstances, their lives are now entwined - but they’re not yet certain of what they mean to each other.

Great sequel!
Revisado: 08-15-21
The Golem and the Jinni is probably my favorite book of all time. So much so that I contemplated NOT reading this sequel because I didn’t think it would be fair. But I’m so glad I did! The author doesn’t force anything. No expected plot twists or sappy conclusions. This book is more about acculturation than immigration which is interesting. It is also more fantastical than the first book which normally I wouldn’t like but there’s so much real history packed into the book that it still felt like historical fiction. The narrator is the same as the one in the first book and he’s just wonderful! Oh I’m already sad this book is over!

Hands down, the best narrator of any audio book I’ve encountered, and I’ve encountered a lot. The book itself is fantastic and takes you into a different world—psychologically, culturally, and historically. But the narrator is truly outstanding.

The best part of this book is the narrator. She was able to so many accents so well in addition to capturing the characters’ personalities. I found the book okay. Good at first but eventually it became somewhat boring and slow and I was eager to be on to the next thing.
