Historia
To sustain a mutually fulfilling relationship, the first step is knowing how to change your own behavior to transform the relationship dynamic. Real-life examples illustrate ways to transform desire based on need into desirability based on fullness. The examples focus primarily on couples in loving relationships, but the principles discussed hold true for all types of relationships including parents and children, coworkers, and friends.

Fascinating despite lots of facts
Revisado: 01-02-20
It is a bit dense with facts about airplanes, pilots, war progress, but so interesting to learn about pan am’s involvement and about birth of airline industry in general. Ifounditamazinghowthe earlypilotsflewwithfewinstrumnets, noweatherinfo, limitedknowledgeofterritroy, noorfewrunways.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

The book title held promise for me. The words and phrases the author chose did not convey meaning to me: “luminous emptiness” or “aperspectival madness of a post truth world” are two that come to mind. I gave two stars instead of one because every now and then I got something, like try to live my life with integrity and free of hypocrisy. Always good to do. The book was mind numbing for me.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Interesting and so worthwhile
Revisado: 09-26-18
The author takes us into the lives of family members raised in a fundamentalist religious household, but more than that it is one with significant mental illness. In part it is a study about how hard it can be to break the grip of the way one is a raised has on the person. Like Glass Castle, it is inspiring beyond any words I have. A truly worthwhile and interesting book.

Historia
Lina is just like any other 15-year-old Lithuanian girl in 1941. She paints, she draws, she gets crushes on boys - until one night when Soviet officers barge into her home, tearing her family from the comfortable life they've known. Separated from her father, forced onto a crowded and dirty train car, Lina, her mother, and her young brother slowly make their way north, crossing the Arctic Circle, to a work camp in the coldest reaches of Siberia.

A story that we need to know
Revisado: 02-06-18
We need to learn about the horrible things that Stalin did in WW11. This story tells us in a tale of a young woman, her brother and mother and others they meet in prison camp in Siberia. I listened to the book and the reader detracted from the story. Her voice is high pitched, shrieky and irritating. I would not hesitate to recommend the book for youth or adults to read..Thank you to the author for sharing.
