The author demonstrates a very incisive intelligence. He has first-hand knowledge of the events that he is writing about. This is not an opinion book.
I recommend this book to everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and learning from it.

Best book that I have read, written by two trusted advisors to President Trump ( and candidate Trump).
If you miss this read, you are missing out on a great piece of America history.

The setting of espionage life in World War II Denmark was thrilling. I learned a lot of new things. There is absolutely nothing to not like about this book. The author his good command of the English language in writes in a crisp and pithy style.

Would you listen to The Boys in the Boat again? Why?

No; I enjoyed this, but once is enough.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Boys in the Boat?

The team's impromptu visit to the Roosevelt home in Hyde Park truly captures the simplicity of lifestyles in the 1930s. It was well done.

Have you listened to any of Edward Herrmann’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is another homerun.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Very enjoyable.

What disappointed you about The Invention of Wings?

A very simple book geared toward a third or fourth grade level reader - no big words, no interesting plot development, and painfully predictable throughout.

What was most disappointing about Sue Monk Kidd’s story?

Amazingly, the author manages to make two very interesting people - the Grimske sisters - dull. Monk gives short shrift to the more interesting part of the Grimke sister's lives. Their travels and their interaction with some of the most interesting figures of the nineteenth century is undeveloped.

What aspect of the narrators’s performance would you have changed?

Narrator did a very good job with a poor novel. The story is less dull if you listen to it at 1.5x speed.

What character would you cut from The Invention of Wings?

Cut Handful - too hokey.

Any additional comments?

This would be a nice gift for a young child. I can not say that an adult would learn one thing from this book.

What about Lawrence S. DiCara’s performance did you like?

I did not live in Boston during the late seventies, but author Larry DiCara made me feel as if I had been there during the divisive, turbulent, years when a young Harvard graduate (DiCara), motivated by the simple, powerful idea - that he might play a part in the rebirth of Boston – won his seat on the Boston City Council - the youngest successful candidate ever. Thus began DiCara’s active participation in the most unpredictable and transformative decade in the city’s history.

DiCara is a wonderful, natural story teller. Turmoil and Transition in Boston is truly one of the best written books that I have ever enjoyed listening to. If you have never been to Boston or if you have lived here most of your life – you will love living through this decade all over again!

Any additional comments?

I certainly hope there more DiCara books in the future - and soon!

Everyone should read this book. It is very well written, provocative (in a good sense) and powerful. The author has a clear sense of purpose which makes the

What other book might you compare The Boy in the Striped Pajamas to and why?

Nothing else like it.

What about Michael Maloney’s performance did you like?

Easy voice to listen too.

This is well told, moving and engaging. I am surprised that it is not a well known story. I have no criticism. If you do not listen to it, you have missed out.
