Historia
Nathan was different and Sally knew it. From his early childhood, Nathan was bursting with creativity and uncontainable energy, struggling not only with learning issues but also with anxiety and OCD. He saw the world through his own unique lens - one that often caused him to be labeled as "bad", "troubled", or someone in need of "fixing". Bravely choosing to listen to her motherly intuition rather than the loud voices of the world, Sally dared to believe that Nathan's differences could be part of an intentional design.

Hope and Empathy in a book
Revisado: 04-16-22
This book was very relatable for me as I struggle with my ASD, ADHD, ODD 8-year old. It brought tears to my eyes and gave me hope that my kiddo will be okay, I am not alone, and the struggle is real. The narration was fantastic and it is an easy listen. My only criticism is that there are a lot of biblical citations which I cannot relate to even though I do believe in God. I'm simply not one who studies the Bible or memorizes proverbs and this advice was not helpful to me personally.

No matter how much advice we get or how much work we do on our “stuff,” nothing ever seems to make the difference. The truth of it is, you’re woefully ill-equipped for one of the most life-defining things you will ever take on—being in a committed relationship. Whether you’re currently in one, want to be in one, half in–half out, getting over one, married, single, separated, divorced, or just overwhelmed with the whole thing, let’s cut through the morass of relationship schtick and put you back in charge.

Worth the Listen
Revisado: 02-03-22
I have read or listened to all of GJBs books. This one hit the nail on the head when it comes to dealing with a particular relationship or relationships, but the points made were similar to the advice in all of his other books. You can change yourself and not others. Live by your values. I found it to be a very good reminder as to how I SHOULD behave, but found it lacking in terms of providing do-it-now strategies. I think this would be 5 stars if it had an accompanying workbook to help someone identify his/her values and tricks/tips to apply them in another way other than using sheer willpower (but perhaps that is the only way). This book did help me see the ways I am holding onto resentment/anger but I'd like solid strategies to let it go and move on. My willpower just isn't always enough. This said, I will be keeping this in my library to listen to again and again.

Historia
If you’re a parent who yells and screams at your children on a daily basis and constantly feels like you’re at your wits end, it’s time to find a new communication strategy that is not only more effective, but also won’t make your blood pressure skyrocket. Kids can be downright frustrating. They don’t like to listen, they know exactly how to push your buttons, and they even seem to get some sort of pleasure from driving you up the wall.

This has no tools

I was hoping for some effective strategies to help me be a more patient parent but this book provides nothing of the sort. The narrator did a very good job, but that was it.

Our words have the power to create profound healing or incredible suffering. Yet even with the best intentions, it is often difficult to express ourselves in ways that build harmony and trust. Speaking Peace presents a seminal four-part model you can use immediately to connect to the spirit of love and generosity within you and start contributing to the well-being of everyone you relate to.

The same book
Revisado: 09-17-21
This is literally a condensed version of his previous book repeating the exact same information and examples from the previous book. Don't waste your money. I was hoping for additional insight or advice, but it was word for word almost identical to what I previously read.

Historia
The Ancestral Indigenous Diet is based upon the forgotten wisdom of our Carnivorous past. It teaches a traditional way of eating and nutrition principles that naturally allow us to achieve weight loss, longevity, overall health, and — most importantly — happiness. High-quality animal foods are the foundation of it all. Similar to a Carnivore Diet, we prize grass-fed beef, free-range chicken and eggs, pasture-raised pork, wild-caught fish, raw grass-fed dairy, and high-quality wild plant foods prepared in the traditional way.

Awesome!
Revisado: 01-23-21
I generally don't rate books. I've read many of the big named Carnivore, Keto, Paleo books out there. This was great material and in an easy-to-digest format. Nothing was too science-y for the average person to understand. And it was an EASY book to listen to, which is something I cannot say about most of these types of books. I originally purchased the audio version, but I plan to buy the paperback for easy reference. His diet recommendations are spot on.

Because most nutrition products and training plans are designed for men, it's no wonder that so many female athletes struggle to reach their full potential. ROAR is a comprehensive, physiology-based nutrition and training guide specifically designed for active women. This book teaches you everything you need to know to adapt your nutrition, hydration, and training to your unique physiology so you can work with, rather than against, your female physiology.

The information about how women's hormones affect performance was fantastic, but the nutritional recommendations are complete garbage (chocolate milk as a recovery drink?). She also states numerous times that women fuel better on fat, but also recommends a carbohydrate-rich diet plan. I do not recommend if you're looking for diet advice.
